I have 140 in my BR. should I take a shot at 10NL or wait til 150?

[/ QUOTE ]
Well as you can see 10NL is a pretty cutthroat business
You could wait until 200 or if you have a good history of beating smaller stakes take a couple of buyin shot IF losing won't knock you too much.
I'm in the nit camp especially if you do not have a lot of hands in NL already and are winning handily.

Isn't that like $300? It's a good history either way, as long as you're comfortable and as Gelford says you can move back down. It seems recently that playing lower than usual brings out the [censored] in some people.

To MC: It's very likely that deep down you aren't confident that you are a winning player. Because if you were you'd see it's more important to play a bunch of hands instead of quitting when you win a buy-in. Because the more hands a winning player plays, the more $$$ he wins. Pretty simple stuff.

Variance evens out for the winning player the more hands he plays.

You win one buy-in for 4 straight days and then on the fifth lose 3 buy-ins due to normal variance coolers and you've won one buy-in in 5 days.

[/ QUOTE ]

That sounds spot on!

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah.. thats probably right. Or that I;m just not used to being a winning player to this extent. Like, I doubt its normal to just start beating $100 for 9BB/100 from the get go, when I was around 7/100 at $25 and $50. So I'm ot sure how much of the improvement to attribute to actually getting better, or running well, or maybe my style just works better at $100. It's almost like the jump to $100 was too easy or something, so I'm paranoid of a bad downswing now, so I just quit while I'm ahead. Yeah, I think that's it.

(As an aside, played some more, and now I'm up2 BIs on the day. That's TWICE as many as 1BI!)
