140 players gone the first 15 minutes. If so, they're already at the 16k level of payouts.

Negreanu's Stack Dented On a flop of J98, Daniel Negreanu bets $12,000 and Chris Combs calls. The turn is the 3 and Negreanu shoots out again with $18,000. Combs calls and the river puts the 10 on the board. Negreanu pushes all-in, having Combs well covered and Combs calles all-in, showing J10 for top two pair. Negreanu shows 108 for a worse two pair and Combs rakes in the pot to double up to $130,000. Negreanu's stack is now down to $158,000. Imho, that's a horrible play by Daniel. No worse hand calls while he doesn't need to bluff cause 2 pairs have a showdown value. Wouldn't check (to induce a bluff as well) - call be much better? I doubt he is getting any value from just one pair, especially with the all in. Why did he do it? [/ QUOTE ] Combs must have had ~60k at the start of the hand since he just doubled up. With the 2 bets they mentioned in CP, there would be 60k in the pot, with Combs having ~30k behind, so it was only about a half pot bet by Daniel. It would actually be less if the preflop action was taken into account (CP ignores it). So it looks like this was just a value bet, and top pair would have a tough time folding getting better than 2:1. |

[/ QUOTE ] Because it might be good, and there is a good chance he can get JT, J9, J8, and T9 to fold. [/ QUOTE ] If it's good the villain won't call the all-in on a 4 to a straight board. And that board could have hit so much hands (not mentioning the fact the the opponent could have the straight) with sets, better 2 pairs that are tough to laydown (unless he had a read that the guy is a total nit, but his call without the straight suggests otherwise). I really don't see the need to do it. Bad play imho. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing ~$20k in the pot on the flop (Daniel bet 12k), 24k goes in on flop, 36k on turn. So $80k in there on the river, final pot was $130k. The guy is getting $105k to $25k on the river call. Worse hands than Daniel's will probably call the river bet but will never bluff, so I think he's correct to bet the river. |

Molina Takes Out Another
Seat 5 raises in late position to $9,000 and Eric Molina says "I'm tired of you raising like you've been all day. I'm all-in." Seat 5 calls and turns over AJ, Molina KJ. The flop comes 732, which gives Molina a club draw along with any King in the deck. The turn is the K placing Molina in the lead with a pair of Kings. The river is the J and Molina eliminates his opponent with a King high flush. After the hand is over the rest of the table tells Molina that his opponent didn't raise any hands. He actually only had played 3 hands all day including the elimination hand. Molina laughs and says, "Oh well, I won the hand and that's all that matters." Molina now is at $300,000. And i wonder why they say the tournament poker is mostly about luck? This guy is gonna win it. |
