Nice summary RenoDoc....thx for this and your other posts ...wow that 99 hand is pretty interesting and not sure what I'd do in that situation - probably would have folded too. Sorry you busted out but you have a great WSOP run and some nice cashes this year in the tournies you were in (I think you cashed in like 4?).

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] and Matusow now has to dodge only a diamond or he will double up. The river brings the 3 , and a very dejected Mouth is sent to the rail. [/ QUOTE ] Can't wait to see this on ESPN [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Actually by the time he got to where I was yesterday (at the cash games, natch!) he seemed pretty calm, just dejected. A bunch of dumb railbird fans kept coming up to him and asking for autographs and such on his way out and he stopped to talk with them and was polite, if animated about retelling the story. If he threw some screaming fit earlier it was probably just for the cameras. Not to slam him...if your gonna get busted you might as well get some good facetime out of it...but I doubt this was truly as heartbreaking as getting so close to the end. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] This tournament is starting to piss me off "Spiked Jacked Nath Pizzollato and seat 10 are all-in pre-flop. Pizzollato has AA, seat 10 JJ. The flop comes down Q82 and the Aces are still in the lead. The turn is the 3 and seat 10 is looking for one of the remaining two Jacks in the deck. The river does bring the J and Pizollato's Aces gets cracked on the river. Pizollato now sits at $17,000. " [/ QUOTE ] Oh please, garden variety bad beats are a dime a dozen. [/ QUOTE ] [censored] off, this was a 33k pot. I'm sitting between 45k and 50k if this holds up and I'd have the chip lead at my table and the run of the place. As it stands I was heavily up and down in the last hour and finished just above 13k. I'll post more on specific hands later but I ran pretty bad for the second half of the day-- I got reraised when I didn't have big hands, if I got action on big hands, they got cracked, etc. Don't know what to think about Day 2 because I can barely think at all right now. [/ QUOTE ] No offense intended (and I missed that the bad beat I poked fun at was you, it was 5 in the morning after playing for 14 hours). Just tell me you're not at table 130 on Wednesday. On the plus side my worst bad beat was getting all-in pre-flop with KK vs QQ and having the board make a 6-high straight. On the minus side, I never got action on a big hand and had to deal with Norwegian/Danish LAGs in all the wrong places all day so I've got no chips to start day 2. And the board straight thing saved two-people at my table in 4 hours, and we had turned quads or worse (the runner-runner one) to beat someone twice in the same period. |

Gay. "Raymer Gets Clocked With the board showing J876, Raymer bets $2,500, and the player in seat 5 trys to move all-in, but is cited for a string-raise by a floorman, and her action is reduced to a call. The river is the 10, Raymer checks and seat 5 moves all-in for her last $5,525. Raymer thinks for a long time, and a large crowd with two cameramen form around the table. The player in seat 8 calls the clock on Raymer, and he lets it run down to the end before making the call. Seat 5 shows J9 for the straight and Raymer mucks. Raymer is crippled down to $6,500." [/ QUOTE ] There's a bit more to this story as explained by Greg on KMOX this afternoon. Greg bets $2500 and Seat 5 thinks for awhile and tries to call with $1500. Apparently she misread his bet, then requests the bet be pulled down. The floor rules that the bet must stay, she can fold and leave the $1500, or she can complete. Instead she thinks Greg is weak and tries to go all-in. Then she gets called for the string raise. Greg thinks the cameras caught most of this, though perhaps not the whole thing. It might make TV, as they were following him most of the day. Also, she apparently survived the day, as Greg says she'll be two seats to his left on Day 2B. |

I wonder how much more the clock will be called in this year's ME, now that all the dead money has seen the Tiffany Williamson episode from last year.

[ QUOTE ] Being all-in PF --> not a bad beat, just a funny way to lose an 80/20 match-up. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Of course it's a bad beat...but nothing more than a funny 80/20 one. [/ QUOTE ] So, it's both? Which is it? Or are you now admitting you were wrong the first time? [/ QUOTE ] Ahahahahaha....please, nit pick some more. Everyone loves that. Yes, I expressed myself a bit badly the first time, I should have said 'not an extraordinary bad beat', which is what you said the post was about. If that's what you wanted to hear ,there you have it. God, what a loser... |
