I think the biggest problem a lot of people have is that they have no idea what the longterm is. People who win at 5ptbb/100 for 20k hands move up and eventually go busto. Others play 20k and are breakeven and asking for help.

I literally started playing NL ring games on January 25th, (except for maybe 3-4k hands lifetime,) and I've played about 80k hands of 200nl so far. My total winrate is exactly 3ptbb/100 at this point, but having a good day or a bad day can make this number change quite a bit. I don't think you even have a reasonable idea of your winrate until you have at least 100k hands at a given level...

That being said, I think a lot of ssnl posters just don't understand a few KEY concepts that allow certain styles to be profitable. At least 1/2 of people who read ssnl and play in ssnl games are probably losers.

i think longterm is 200k at least, but there's almost no way to get an accurate 200k because the games will be so much different for at the end than the beginning

ship the much needed hawaii vacation

my opinion: tons of SSNL are breakeven @ .5/1 and 1/2, but in a more fluid sense. ill explain.

prob only 15% could make more than 3ptbb/100.

[/ QUOTE ]

isn't there something to be said for the fact that SSNL players are "the cream of the crop"?

of those that post regularly, I think or at least get the feeling the % has to be higher than 15, much higher actually.
