im done ! [/ QUOTE ] No! I cannot express the depth of my disappointment! You started this monster and now you want to just slink away? What about those who believed in you? Are you just going to abandon them like this? Oh, the humanity! If you're not going to see this through, you should concede the argument. Or at least that the numbers you gave were wrong and you don't have the evidence you claimed. But you're not going to do that are you? How about this: You walk away, but you promise never to make another online-poker-is-rigged post, so help you Mike Haven, on pain of banishment? |

Stats are wrong because I am definately not winning 84% of the time with AA, that number is at 80% and next highest is KK at 64% [/ QUOTE ] So you're saying: I have more of your own hands imported to a PT DB than you do (the most recent version of PT, without bugs), and that my stats are wrong, whilst yours are right? 84k hand DB is going to have different (less accurate) numbers than a 400k hand DB. [ QUOTE ] I am not looking forward to any of this information to be valid since you do work for the company and would not reveal such information [/ QUOTE ]Show me how to get it, and I'll get it from your DB, or any other stats. [ QUOTE ] Let me repeat this post is in no way bashing full til, pokerstars or any big poker company. I am just saying that online poker in general is not real, it is skewed for bad players to do better. [/ QUOTE ] Have you read any of the posts I wrote about selection bias, about gut feeling vs. statistical analysis? |

Is there anyway to prove the rng is actually random? Instead of having folks prove it's not, how about proving it is since you have the tools and resources to do so. Who manafactures the rng? Who "tests" the rngs? [/ QUOTE ] So you discredit this player's belief that the site is rigged in the manner he thinks it is? I think I've shown pretty well that he's not got any basis for his "gut feeling". All you can say is that "the site is not rigged 99.999etc% of the time", depending on your sample size. 500k hands isn't going to get you to any decimal places, I should think (depending on your criterea for "rigged"). I imagine someone could run a check on every RM hand on our site, but that's not something I can do in my spare time. As to who checks it: http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/rng/ BMM International & Cigital, Inc. |

I'm saying that it is difficult if not impossible to prove a negative proposition. If I say that there are no unicorns and you ask me to prove it, I can't. If I say there are unicorns and you ask me to prove it, all I have to do is show you one unicorn [/ QUOTE ] This is an absurdity in this instance. If you see one bad beat you know the site is rigged? How can one hand demonstrate that an RNG is not true? [ QUOTE ] That is all theory of course, and the reality is that, even if a site is rigged, no one is likely to ever come up with a statistically significant proof of that. What is much more likely is that if a site were rigged, that information would leak through disgruntled ex-employees, industrial espionage, etc. The human element is the weak link. [/ QUOTE ] So why hasn't it happened yet? We've had five years. I'd sure like to be rich, why haven't I done it? I have access to the player account database, the hand history database and various others. |

Why are you trying to argue rationally with someone who has already shown themselves to be quite incapable of understanding some incredibly basic logic? Just set the doomswitch to on and snap off the lever. [/ QUOTE ] I think you're probably right and I think I'd better stop. |

3. it would be interesting to see what percenratage of people who talk so much on here to actually show that they win a significant amount of money [/ QUOTE ] Well, I'm up ~$200k lifetime. I don't know if I have all the data still though. [ QUOTE ] 5. The very reason I still play at stars is the reason why I am such a good poker player. I win everywhere else I play up to 100-200 limits, but I cannot win at stars no matter what limits, so I continue to play there to figure out why I cannot win, whether I need to tune up my game or to find out the site is skewed or rigged, either way I will either find out it is rigged or I will find a way to win because frankly I am much better than most players at 5-10. When I see better players I will be the first to admit it. ( Jctheguide, hadji, marchinvet2, quality19. Are just a few off the top of my head that always outplay me. I make enough money to pay my bills with just one week of play at the big games so I spend the rest of my time tuning up my game at stars, and that SN elite incentive was just the thing I needed to do this. [/ QUOTE ] The fact is that several people you play with have said that you aren't very good at poker. It's natural to say "well, if he plays bad on PS, he probably plays bad elsewhere too", hence the lack of belief in your numbers. So what this thread boils down to is, you think the site is rigged in a certain way. I've shown that this isn't so. Then you came up with another certain way you think the site is rigged instead. Do you see where this is going? Is it more likely that the site is rigged in a new and exciting way for me to look into demonstrating is very unlikely, or are you not good enough to beat the game? It's great that you have faith in yourself, but if you ever want to get better at this game you need to be able to objectively criticise yourself. |

Just to continue the trend of me making several posts in a row to the thread: The reason I only have 411k hands is that he's played 429173 on the site, I thought it was 500k for some reason. I assume the rest of the hands are tournaments.
