Pretty sure that number is 97% effective during the course of a year of normal use. I'm not sure what a year of normal use but say its once a week. I thought they figured the odds just by failure rate, ie take 100 condoms, 3 will fail, no matter when your how often you use them. and this is also assuming 1. you use a condom everytime (and c'mon, 300 chicks? we all make mistakes), and 2. you use the condom correctly everytime.

Well in the figure i just gave 100 condom-using couples had sex a total of 8300 times over the course of a year and two got knocked up.

One thing that no one has seemed to mention is that Mystery, while being very good, is almost certainly not "the best pickup artist in the world." He is just a kid that used to play DnD, got frustrated at being a virgin and introverted, and decided to "fake it until he made it."

I'm not trying to knock on him to make myself feel better like other guys, and I respect his work. But you are definitely buying into his frame when you call him "the best in the world." He gets alot of attention and a fair amount of money doing seminars because of this tag-line he has invented for himself and that others seem to back. This tag-line feeds his image and his ego.

The truth is there are many cool guys in the world and they have skills near Mystery's level. Whether there are people that surpass him, I don't know and don't really care.

Also, I think he's selling himself as the best teacher in the world. Obviously if him and Brad Pitt walked into a club to have a contest I'd lay my life's savings, meager as they are, down on Brad Pitt, but if Brad Pitt tried to teach a class, what can he really tell besides that's it's nice to be Brad Pitt? I'm sure there's marketing behind it too, what doesn't have that, but from reading The Game it seems that he's legit, if a deeply emotionally disturbed person.

Actually I find Mystery's stuff VERY narrow in scope when compared to PUA as a whole. His skills and methods relate very strongly to what people think when they think the worst of PUA. (i.e. just trying to pick up a chick and bone her that night.) His stuff does not equate well to relationships.

That being said, what this show is directed at is really on openers, and learning to talk to chicks without being a nervous wreck, and I think he's a very good candidate for showing people that.
