How are these geniuses running the pokerrooms not doing more when they see duplicate IPs playing together? I guess the answer is they just don't care.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Also, having multiple accounts playing when you are near or in the money is a huge advantage. [/ QUOTE ] Yep. Taking a coinflip with one account isn't nearly as scary a proposition when you have even one more account in contention. [/ QUOTE ] If I have any clue what is going on here, then this isn't the reason that multiple accounts are pos EV. Right? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure, but I was responding to Boris in regards to MTT's. My post has nothing to with whether or not it is +EV in SNG's. That's a whole other discussion. [/ QUOTE ] I meant my post to be related to MTTs [/ QUOTE ] Okay. It's one of the reasons that multiple accounts are +EV. Having two of the accounts wind up at the same table in a 1k+ entry MTT would be pretty rare occurance and more of an added bonus than anything if it did occur. Imagine starting a tourney with six accounts at six different tables. Think about how your strategy would differ from someone with only one account who is done as soon as that one stack is gone. You get seated at a bad table? No problem. Let's see how the other five tables look. Your goal is to win the tournament. Do you try to double up early, chip up early, or play survival mode? Your choice isn't nearly as important now because you have six stacks. You can play aggro with all of them early on if you wish. If you have six accounts, you can take ~50/50 coinflips with all of them and double up three of the stacks on average. These are all risks that a good player will usually not take with his tournament life at stake early in a tournament. With six stacks, though, it changes everything. |

[ QUOTE ] Am I the only one surprised he hasn't chimed in? [/ QUOTE ] i think you are. if you read the thread, he's most likely sleeping right now. [/ QUOTE ] My guess is someone has woken him up at some point, and he's having one of the worst days of his life right about now. I think he's trying to decide how to proceed. Every minute that goes by w/o a "I'm innocent!" post, makes that post a lot less credible if/when it does come. |

[/ QUOTE ] PS and PP, from what I understand, do ban multiple accounts using the same IP for STTs and ring games. The problem is, sometimes entire dorms in college, hotels, etc. run on the same router and same IP. Although after this they may change the MTT policy even. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Did you read the rest of the post? [/ QUOTE ] yeah, why would i read half of it? the point is you are saying that it's only cheating if you end up at the same table of yourself? this is 100% not true, it's black and white defined by the party T&C [/ QUOTE ] You read the rest of it but you didn't understand it. That may be my fault. People are arguing about whether or not it should be against the rules (the ethics question) in a way that detracts from the fact that it is against the rules and has to be. We agree exactly. See my addition to that post. [/ QUOTE ] i understood your original post perfectly, about how you thought that detracted from the pertinent discussion. but, you still made this statement: [ QUOTE ] If a multiaccounter never was at the same table with himself, there would not be a fundamentally unfair situation. [/ QUOTE ] which i disagreed with. that is all. |

[/ QUOTE ] lol, i'm thinking, geez everything is spelled right, and then WHAM, hehehe [/ QUOTE ] I see my error now.... I made an informative post with the assumption that it would be taken as relevant information. Funny how it all works out in the end, eh? Hell a guy cant even help out here these days without getting flamed. Class acts all around. |
