ugh when is this going to end. I've played like 9187046501269805213095365751512 [censored] hours of live since school ended and I think I'm up like 15k at most. i guess Iit's possible this sounds like a lot of money, but when you have the ultra degenerate drive like me to want to move up to bigger games it is really frustrating to just grind out hours and hours and hours and hours in fantastic games literally filled to the brim with drooling mouth breathers and not a single other solid player.
Commerce starts on Thursday with me sitting 1/2 in a very good game where I just don't win any hands. Game gets bad and I just leave to play 60 when the horrible players disappear to be replaced by players that are actually capable of thought. 60 goes decently I suppose. I won like 1.5 racks but it was still a bit disappointing because I was up 2 racks then stuck then up 2 racks a couple times so if I was able to flop straights and have them hold up against 1 pair (A4 vs A3 on a 235 flop has no shot) I would have won a [censored] more. So on this day I slightly win. When I wake up today Mike is about to go play when he tells me that "Crazy Gabe" is playing 60 so I decide to stay up and go play. I then turn on the TV and see that AI is on. AI is the only movie I have strongly considered walking out of due to boredom, so why would I not pass up like $150 an hour in expectation to watch it? So anyway it was at the end and then there is an encore so I make sure to watch it all the way through this time. 500 hours later I wander downstairs and see a FANTASTIC 1/2 game because possibly my favorite 60 fish is sitting and is clearly plastered (and has been awake for 3+ straight days). He gets moved to the next must move game unfortunately pretty quick. I then get stuck 2 racks in a soso game with a horrendous seat. Things improve slightly when I move to the left of what I felt were the 2 solid laggy players. I don't really make much of a comeback in this game before it goes to crap and I just sit out until my seat opens. I get the god seat on the direct left of the fish in the next game (nobody else wanted it because he raised too much) and I quickly rebuild to being down like 1 stack. I see great things in the future for this day, as in my first 10k win, and if things went very well maybe even 15 or 20, because this guy is clearly capable of it in this state. Then this happens a few times: He raises HJ, I 3bet J7s to isolate next, fold back to him he 4bet. Flop: QJ6 with a flush draw He bets, I raise, he 3, 4, 5, 6, he 7 and I decide to call and pop a safe turn maybe or maybe call down and be happy with the size of the pot. Turn: K completes flush He bets I call River: random blank He bets I call, K2 is good. So anyway I isolate him a few more times, he wins every one in some wacky fashion, he decides to quit and I'm back to stuck 2 racks. Move to 60 on the left of Bugstud and I look around to see a ton of weak players. Fold my BB, in my SB I get A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and call a raise from the HJ because I just call when I don't know what to do in 2/3 blinds. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] My first reaction is that this is a strong flop for my hand. I check and then exercise my option of raising. Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet, he raises, and since I currently have the "nuts" which is the best possible hand I wager an additional $120 USD over his $240. He opts to call and pay me off. River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] That's a shame, I just got rivered, better pay the man his money. I check and call to see his AA. Glad to see that any time I get lucky the poker gods make sure that the best hand holds up. I guess it was really too much to ask that the board not make running trips or 1 outter+pair the board combo. Right after like 1 orbit in this game Mike calls and asks if I want to leave, I give an uncertain answer, luckily he says "let's leave" and I agree. He calls Ocean's while we're on the way back, a 40 game is going. I wasn't going to play, but I did want breakfast, so I went in after I got my car at Mike's house. Then I see the game is full with "Crazy Gabe" (same one that was playing Commerce 60 earlier in the day), Wayne and Aidan along with a fishy looking guy. And they're all playing overs. Tired or not, there was no [censored] way I could live with myself if I didn't sit in this game. I win 1 showdown in the 20 game where I flopped the nuts before getting into the 40. I proceed to win 1 pot on the turn that was like 3 bets maybe and that's it. I had about 3 playable hands total and pretty much just sat around trying to go out like poor Broomcorn's uncle while losing a little with my mediocre hands that I had to play from late position or the blinds. I lose 2 racks and just decide to leave because I'm tired. I was on the left of Gabe and the unknown fish and in a good spot to win, but for the first time in a long time I lost the Eye of the Tiger and came here to complain. A lot of the time when I run bad I feel like I may not be playing well, but at the moment I certainly do not feel this is the case, in fact I think I have been playing superb lately. Since I started playing at Commerce I feel I've been playing a lot more solid and actually putting thought into my decisions instead of just mindlessly doing some action that is probably profitable, but not necessarily the most profitable. I'm supposed to play Crazy Mike again tonight and the 10k I'm gonna win will really help out during these trying times. After that I basically just need another 15-25k to miracle itself my way and things will be back on track. |

Last night in the 30 game. uber tight guy guy raises in EMP, gets 3 bet by next tightest player, SB cold calls. It gets capped. Flop is J52r, bet somewhere, uber tight guy insta raises , SB calls 2 cold, turn is 5. At showdown SB tables Q5os, which is good obviously. Ubertightguy does the obligatory throwing of the Aces, and SB says in humble and sincere display of wisdom , " I was just playing the percentages"

Flop T72r UTG c/c Turn 5 UTG c/c River 5 UTG c/c CO tables QT because he's got the nuts. He knows it, the whole table knows it. UTG then nods his head to acknowledge the power of the CO's hand before tabling his Q5o. |

Yes it was thanks to your 1/3 contribution w/ Q5o. |

Although I hate people that get pissed when fish suck out on them and physically show it like throwing their cards. It shows they have no poker experience as I would hope any experienced player could lose a one outer in a big pot and barely flinch, happens all the time. Also I love it when I get sucked out on because I know that will only get his confidence up for when I take back all his monies he is splashing around

Sailboats and PJ, missing the Commerce on a Friday night is criminal...just criminal. Classic hand from Friday night 20: For the 20 regulars: Villain1 is KK, the Korean math teacher Villain2 is Rich Old Dude with Money to Burn UTG calls, Villain1 raises, all call to Villain to who 3-bets, SB caps...all call. 9-way capped to see a flop of 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain1 bets, one call, Villain2 raises, SB calls, Villain1 3-bets, another call, Villain2 says " you got a nine huh?" and caps, SB calls, Villain1 calls. Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain1 bets, Villain2 raises, SB calls, Villain1 3-bets, Villain2 calls saying "you got that goddamn 9 don't you?", SB calls. River: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain1 bets, both call. Villain1 tables 97 soooted to scoop the 38 BB pot. Villain2 bypasses monkey, chimpanzee and orangutan tilt and proceeds straight to gorilla tilt and dumps 2 racks in the next 3 orbits. You just can't get that kind of entertainment for free anywhere else. [/ QUOTE ] 9-way capped?? aiyyya. Nice to see you posting heh. How did things go with Mrs. Pham!?! Apparently this whole time i had confused the Mike L. from this board with someone from the Commerce 20 game. |
