FYI, there's an alternative way to fund your moneybookers account without a bank wire, credit card, or doing a PSavvy signup. gamebookers allows Neteller deposits but the only withdraw option is a bank transfer. If you are outside the EU and select bank transfer as the withdraw method, the amount will be sent to your moneybookers account. Make sure you use the same email addy for gameboookers and moneybookers and you should be set. [/ QUOTE ] This is true, I've had a dormant Moneybookers account for the past 6 months from back when I did the gamebookers bonus. I'm finally getting around to fully setting it up because of the Neteller mess and really appreciate all the info so far in this thread! |

I use Desjardins for wires (in Quebec) and it's expensive as well.

i got some bad news for moneybookers...they don't tell you this until you actually sign up.
here's the relevant section: [ QUOTE ] Issuing e-money is a 'regulated activity' under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Moneybookers Ltd. is regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the United Kingdom. The entire balance of your Moneybookers account is protected by regulation in regard to capital, liquidity and float management requirements. We are required to keep the funds received in exchange for e-money in pre-defined low-risk assets and to hold at any time sufficiently liquid assets to be able to redeem all e-money issued. We are legally obliged to make our customers aware that (1) the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) does not apply to funds stored on your Moneybookers account; (2) if Moneybookers Ltd. becomes insolvent the funds stored on your Moneybookers account may become valueless and unusable; and (3) consequently, if Moneybookers Ltd. becomes insolvent you may lose the funds stored in your account. [/ QUOTE ] well...that sucks. if they go bankrupt we don't get our monies. there's a checkbox for you to agree. if you do not, then the maximum money you can have in your MB account is 1000GBP or equivalent. |

Yeah I read that too. Leaves an uneasy feeling. I def wont be leaving thousands of dollars in my MB account. I'll keep it stored into a few diff sites and then just use MB as a vehicle for reloads bonuses.

TD Visa allows purchases for online gaming purposes. At least they did back in 2004 when I last deposited by credit card.

Thanks for any help. [/ QUOTE ] Ahhh yes, that fooled me at first as well...I should probably add a note about this. They do CC's in an odd way. You don't actually fund the account with the CC. When you make a deposit on a poker site with no funds in your account, they use your CC on file. When you registered, you had to give them CC info...this is what they'll use. |
