Living vicariously thru a SSNL grinder:
Brag --Had lunch today at the Mystic Lake Casino buffet --ate smart. Salad, nice portions, quit before engourgement --decided to play some video poker to try to recoup my buffet cost --decided any other profits would go toward a nice bottle of wine --using my top secret video poker strategy won $140 --went to the wine place and bought a ruby porto and an aged 10yrs tawney porto --all wine in store was 20% off regular price Beat --went to Walmart to pick up some starbucks canned coffee and a case of Red Bull --decided to check out the men's clothing area, looking for cheap t-shirts --the L/XL/XXL area was three carousels all right together in a triangle type shape --a man was in the middle of the triangle, topless, trying on shirts --i was waiting patiently for him to get done so I could see the other half of the carousels, which were blocked by his largesse --i had my hand on a shirt, checking it's size and price --dude, overweight, maybe around 40 or so, reaches over the top of my hands and grabs a shirt off a hanger dude: Careful there sport (oh, it's on now) aj: I think they have changing rooms, ya know dude: I don't need to be taking advice from you aj: even if it's good advice, like 'you really should lose 150 pounds'? aj: I mean, they don't even have shirts big enough for you dude: oh, a smarta$$ aj: I mean, a man of your age really needs to watch out for his heart aj: what are you, 70? dude: you should watch out or you'll get your a$$ kicked aj: What you gonna do? Sik your grandkids on me? (exit: dude) Variance I got lost in an unfamiliar area of Eden Prairie, caught rush hour, and spent 15 minutes in my truck that I didn't need to. The $$$$$$ +140 Video Poker -10.60 Buffet -40.09 Wine -28.44 Walmart -20.50 Gas and USA Today ------- $40.37 Profit |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I got my new laptop at 11:45 this morning. It is now almost 5 in the afternoon and I still cannot figure out how to get it on my wireless router's network. I am an idiot. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] You have to turn the wireless on on your laptop. There should be a button on one of the "F" keys. I think its F9 or something like that. Press the fn button + that and it should work. [/ QUOTE ] Heh, if it was this easy I would have figured it out. I have Wi-fi and its always on unless you turn it off manually. It has something to do with my network, I have to find a 10 digit security key or some [censored]. I think I'm just gonna buy a new router and start from scratch. [/ QUOTE ] You have another computer (desktop? old laptop?) that connects to tour wireless? Look up the WEP key in the old comp's network settings, type in to new Failing that post in CTH with model name / numbers and stuff, someone will know how to find it. [/ QUOTE ] Got it working now. I'm a noob with regards to that stuff but I figured it out. |

Wow, this month has been crazy. My biggest winning month in my online poker career. Pretty crazy. I moved up from 100NL ages ago, and only really play it when im on mega tilt but still need a poker fix. The last 2000 hands i was tilting really bad. Openpushing 100BB with 910s, 4bet pushing with 23o..the usual stuff you do at 1cent//2cent. Wish i had done it there really would have saved me a big chunk.
This is where i played the bulk of my hands this month, 200NL, 200NL has been treating me well so far. Sometimes i find it hard to believe im a winning player at that level because when im making half my plays i feel they are just spew. Im sure a bigggg downswing is gonna come along soon and chop my winrate into 100 pieces though. 200NL graph for this month below: Ive been pretty conservative with my bankroll management, and have finally moved up to 400NL, im sure ill be back down here once i get a beating at 400NL though. 400NL hasn't been too bad to me so far, apart from a few coolers. ![]() And this...wow what was i thinking. got home drunk one day and decided to take a 10buyin shot at 1000NL and even if i lost it all id still have a 10k roll to rebuild at 200NL. Then i got my senses back and left the table as soon as Ansky (supernova9) joined the table. Flopped 2 sets, didn't even get paid ! :/ ![]() So all in all this is my March, i cant believe it when i look at it. I still remember last March i was grinding out 10$ sngs building my roll during my year out. Gonna be off to MSNL for a while posting hands now that im properly rolled for 400NL. Would like to thank SSNL for all the advice. This isn't the first time ive moved up to 400NL. Ive taken beatings every time...maybe this time I can stay there for good! I still have a load of leaks in my game that need fixing though, but hopefully i can carry on running insanely good while i fix them. ![]() Its pretty crazy all the people ive seen at 400NL that were playing 200NL a few weeks ago like LDonnie, KeanuReaver,TakinUr$$$,and some others. Gonna see how good I run at 400NL, if i think my winrate is half or less than half of my 200NL winrate then i might aswell move back down so i dont have crazy swings/way overrolled/ and have practically the same or even better hourly rate. I can see why alot of top players dont bother moving up to 400NL. I think I could really see 200NL being my perm home if 400NL is as tough as ive seen. 5 regs on every table doesn't seem like fun days ahead. March ended with a pretty sharp downswing for me..hopefully can turn it around next month! Heres a hand that went down at 400NL...they are soo tricky grr..I honestly though I was trapping NoTalentTom(the guy who flat called my 3bet in position after flat calling UTG's raise. UTG was citanul by the way). Both of these players were on all 5 of my other tables. I thought the only way I am getting action from NoTalentTom from hands that im beating is to induce a bluff by leading weak into the flop. And when he checks behind the turn I think im definately good. Never ever ever put him on that in a million years! This is standard though right?
