Ollie is an amazing pitcher. He can do the 180 better than any player I have ever watched.

Bats need to get this one for Ollie. He's made 1 bad pitch all game, and got unlucky that it came after a couple of garbage brokenbat singles.

Randolph just does weird stuff sometimes. Our 4 starter hittign with the bases juiced and 1 out down by a run is utterly absurd. "If he makes contact itll probably be a run" ? Are you kidding me? Jee, I wonder why the Nationals brought in a hard throwing reliever to pitch to him.

I also hihgly doubt Perez would take that as a hit to his confidence. If our pen was being overowkred that would be one thing but it isn't. Perez just can't hit there, and if he comes out before at least 7 complete innings I'll be real irritated.

And now were pitchign to the guy with a 3 run homerun today with 2nd , 1st open and 3 lefties on deck. Randolph is a great manager when it comes to handling the pen. He also handles players well but his pinch-hit/pinch-run/ and when to IW or bunt calls are always questionable. Kearns just made an out but it's still stupid.

I know I can't blame Alou for not moving over on the fly ball from Green to center. But, damn, this would be a time game if he had. Back to back doubles then 3 fly balls to get out of the inning.

Well if the Pen can keep it a 1 run game at least the top of order is coming up.

Now Alou is allowed to run on 2nd and no outs? Saving Endy Chavez for a later appearance???, its the 8th inning. Im surprised Perez didn't bat, I mean it's only the 8th, dont wanna have to quick of a hook.

So instead blame Randolph for leaving Alou out there. He's tossed away 2 runs in a game we're losing 4-3.

BobO,

Good point. This is 4-4 with Chavez on second there. BTW, Joe Smith looks terrific again. A few hiccups through the season but for a player just out of college for less than a year he has been impressive.

In fact, not running for Alou was even dumber than letting Perez hit. At least with PErez you can argue you want to build him into a man, blah blah blah. I really doubt they are tryign to build Alou's confidence as a baserunner. What are you savign Chavez for, to run for Lo Duca in the 9th? OK save him for someone who might become a baserunner instead of using him for someone who IS a baserunner, brilliant.
