[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The more I look at Calvin Johnson, the more I think that Millen may actually be right to pick a wide receiver in the first round. I mean, this guy is a total freak. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, honestly. I am excited to watch this guy as a pro. Anyone know if this guy has had any legal type problems during his tenure at G-Tech? [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure he's completely clean. The claim is that he's Randy Moss without the whole being a [censored] thing. [/ QUOTE ] And he is bigger. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Any news on how JaMarcus Russell did at his pro day? [/ QUOTE ] Several scouts apparantly said it was the best pro day by a QB-EVER. [/ QUOTE ] Just as importantly, he weighed in at 258 down from his highly published 265 at the combine. Raiders coach Lane Kiffin was at LSU & Georgia Tech pro days last week. Matt Millen, Rod Marinelli & Mike Martz all were at MSU's pro day watching Drew Stanton instead of going to see Russell workout. The urban legend that Calvin Johnson ran a 4.35 40 at the combine in borrowed shoes has been proven inaccurate. In fact East Carolina QB James Pickney had borrowed CJ's shoes earlier in the day and gave them back to Johnson shortly before he ran. The misinformation was started by Dick Jauron and others seeing the shoe exchange and telling reporters. Hot Trade Rumors: -Houston & Miami have joined Carolina as teams considering trading up for Brady Quinn. Miami has been talking to Detroit to try and acquire the #2 pick. As mentioned the Redskins had a huge enotourage at Georgia Tech's pro day. They are also repordetly interesed in Brady Quinn. |

Anyone know if this guy has had any legal type problems during his tenure at G-Tech? [/ QUOTE ] During the summer between his sophomore and junior year he was in his hometown and we saw him on the side of the road helping a woman change a tire. Honestly. |

[ QUOTE ]
I should mention that GT pro day was visited by Dan Snyder, Joe Gibbs, Al Saunders (OC), Vinny Cerrato (VP of football ops), and Jack Burns (off ass). So Detroit might be able to get a lot for that pick, and still get a strong DE with the 8 pick. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting but I don't think the Redskins are trying to trade up to grab Calvin Johnson. A lot of teams probably attend these pro days just in case a player falls to them or if the player they want is no longer available. |

[/ QUOTE ] The Redskins being interested in Brady Quinn might be the dumbest rumor of all-time. They are very content w/ Jason Campbell and it would make no sense to draft another young QB, especially with a top ten pick. Rumors around here are that the Skins are in trade talks w/ Houston, Miami and Minnesota to trade down so that one of those teams can draft Brady Quinn at #6. |

How do people feel about Quinn? I'm really really hoping the Vikings not only don't trade up to get him, but don't pick him if he falls to them. I don't think he'd be much of an improvement over Brooks Bollinger. Am I way off?

[ QUOTE ] There are even some rumblings out of Washington that the Redskins could be interested in Quinn themselves despite the fact they took QB Jason Campbell in the opening round just two years ago. The Redskins, who have the 6th pick this year, also raised some eyebrows when they sent a full staff to Atlanta to watch Georgia Tech’s Calvin Johnson work out yesterday including owner Dan Snyder, head coach Joe Gibbs and football operations VP Vinny Cerrato, along with both co-ordinators. I don't think either will happen though... |
