Happy new year everyone! Just back from a long vacation, South Africa was great! But damn I don't see all the problems there getting fixed in the next 25 years.

Anyways December was crap poker wise off course since I've been in the SA sun most of the time. I did manage to earn $250 and the same amount in bonus, so still enough to eat. And I donated some pso points to charity 'brag'.

My January goal will be too clear my pokerroom bonus, and earn $500, I do have exams though so I only got like 14 days to play poker.Taking a shot at $100nl again will be postponed till next month, cause I really need to earn some money this month.

But anything strange happened the last three weeks in the poker world, or the unl community that I need to know about?

heh, I've ALWAYS found .5/1 to be softer than .25/.50.

Same, and that's over multiple sites and a substantial amount of hands...

I can't confirm this. I'm beating 50NL by a fair margin, but have been eaten alive at 100NL thus far.
Most of my bad stretches at 50NL are due to bad play on the later streets (aka. not giving villains enough credit).
At 100NL I got blown out of so many pots and had tons of difficult decisions to make. Naturally, I made more mistakes there than at 50NL.

Fishies aren't normal fishies at 100NL, they're lagfishniacs. I always felt I had to flip for my stack more often than I'd like to.

Good choice of country, and you're right with the problems.
Glad to see, you're not one of the many tourists that say stuff like "if the whites wouldn't be so racist all problems would be resolved immediately." The problems they've got down there are way more complex.

Where have you been? Seen Cape Town, Garden Route, and maybe a game reserve? Then you've seen the most beautiful parts of SA.

Villain was 52/10/1.5 over like 40 hands. Also 52% WTSD and 60% W$SD. Never folds to a cbet.

Was this river push fine? (I know it looks donkish but this guy was sort of a donkey. I thought he'd call with QQ TT obv or a straight.)

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($82.55)
CO ($49.50)
Button ($16.90)
SB ($54.05)
BB ($54.50)
Hero ($74.20)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $2, MP calls $2, 4 folds.

Flop: ($4.25) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $4.5, MP calls $4.50.

Turn: ($13.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $9, MP calls $9.

River: ($31.25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $58.7 (All-In), MP folds.

Final Pot: $89.95

Results in white below:
Hero has 9d 9h (four of a kind, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins $89.95.
