For example: I was flopping sets with pocket deuces in an 80-160 limit game, so I cold called 3 bets on the button with them and flopped another set. I could never tell someone to call 3 bets cold with deuces. Understand?

[/ QUOTE ]

For your own sake please tell me you will never do that again. The cold-calling part, not the flopping sets part.

I can't promise. Maybe I am too superstitious. Some days I run very hot and play cards that I normally won't play. I always play my rush. Most people would never play the way I play, but I maximize my winning sessions. It's something that has worked for me. I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, I'm just letting you know a situation where I did not play "normal" poker.

Hi Jean,

You say you've been playing for two years. In that time have you had the pleasure of enduring an extended and seriously bad run of cards? If so, how bad ($), how long did it last, and how did you deal with it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh yes, I don't know anyone who hasn't. It was in May 2005, I was playing 40/80 and in 3 weeks managed to lose 21k. I didn't have a substantial winning session. What I should of done was take a break, but I was stubborn. It was a good lesson for me though, I told myself that if I ever had 3 losing sessions in a row I would do the folllowing:

1. Take a break for a week
2. Play a lower limit
3. Stay home and play online

Just be assured that doing that on a regular basis costs you money in the long run...not to mention a set of dueces is more susceptible to losing to mo' bigga sets (obviously) etc.

Men really don't pay attention very well....
I never said I do that on a regular basis, you guys just reconfirmed why I do not post on strategy forum. If you were not physically sitting at my table at that given moment, your opinion is irrelevant. I can care less what other people think about my playing, I won a pot over $2k with a risk of $240.

remember, if you have a feel, or a system, it's not gambling!

Hey, I didn't say that you were wrong in any particular instance. I haven't seen the hand nor would I have any clue the context of the hand. If you can intuitively figure out your total investment odds on-the-fly that accurately (in relation to your opponent(s) hand range, etc.), then you're truly good. It's just that most of the time calling 3 cold pre-flop w/ small pocket pairs is a no-no. If you don't hit, you will oftentimes muck it on the flop anyway saying goodnight to 3 small bets.

And, no, I don't care if you think my opinion is irrelevent. I'm an anon internet forum poster.
