raise your hand if youve played 26,500 hands this month too

That's sick.

Karp - I'm reading the posts in here but haven't been getting involved in teh discussions as I play FR and don't have any experience/background with 6-max tables.

interesting hand i posted in ssnl, opinions anyone?

i think raising and folding to a reraise/shove (aside from maybe like a minraise) is fairly standard here, but some others seem to disagree

[/ QUOTE ]

I minraise here all the time.

Where do I learn what to raise in 6 max nl cash in different position?

[/ QUOTE ]

Think about how you want the hand to play.

Think about the players left to act.

Think about whether their style will work with your plan.

Then play the hand or don't.

this is the best poker strategy post ive ever read. (no sarcasm)

this is actually pretty specific to shorthanded players, and HU is obv very read dependent but i found this spot interesting. villain was unknown to me at the start of the match, and ive been relentlessly aggro and have made him fold a ton. the only hands where he has taken stands have been these 2:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1350896

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1350873

he has made some other half-hearted attempts to play back but i have called down or rebluffed most of them, and its obvious he's getting frustrated. here's the hand:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (2 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($308.50)
Hero ($482.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Button raises to $6, Hero raises to $18, Button calls $12.

Flop: ($36) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $24, Button calls $24.

Turn: ($84) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $54, Button calls $54.

River: ($192) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets or CRAI?

my thiking is he is fed up w/ my constant double barreling and he has shown some capacity to valuebet thin, even in RR pots. is this a good spot for it or just go ahead and shove? FWIW i left w/ ~ pot behind w/ the intention of shoving most rivers.

Like you said, this is very read dependent.

You kinda have to weight how often you think he has a made hand here and will vb it, and how often this is a missed spade draw that he'll bluff at.

Personally, I'd probably check raise. I think it's probably unlikely he calls you with a naked 9 here. However, that 8 is a great card. If he has 98, he will bet t his river. If he's slow playing a set, he'll bet. If he missed is flush draw, he might bet. So, I'd c/r.

I'd prob shove here since you've been both pounding on him and shown a willingness to look up (presumably light).

What is the standard against unknown in this spot? FWIW I'm 99% sure he's not a regular. NLHE50 6max is the game.

Seat 1: bgpokerkid ( $128.45 )
Seat 3: Firetribe ( $50 )
Seat 8: alfoss ( $10.70 )
Seat 10: ChacAttack ( $81.42 )

alfoss posts Small Blind $0.25
ChacAttack posts Big Blind $0.50

Dealing cards
Your cards K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [Firetribe]
bgpokerkid folds
Firetribe raises $1.75
alfoss folds
ChacAttack calls $1.25
Dealing Flop 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
ChacAttack checks
Firetribe bets $3.25
ChacAttack calls $3.25

Dealing Turn T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
ChacAttack checks
Firetribe bets $7.25
ChacAttack raises $14.50
Firetribe folds
