--You'll say, "Is that Jeff Goldblum?", if you watch California Split.
--I once started a thread, asking if I was the only one who didn't know Gandolfini was in Get Shorty. I got the impression that yes, I was the only one. --Watched "Heaven Can Wait" this morning (not nearly as good as "Here Comes Mr Jordan", BTW). In one scene, Jack Warden is in his car, listening to the Superbowl on the radio. The radio announcer's voice is familiar, but I can't place it, so I wait for the closing credits. It was Peter Tomarken, the host from "Press Your Luck". --Vinny 'Big Pussy' Pastore was an extra on "Goodfellas", pushing the rack of coats that the restaurant owner decides to store in the freezer. Gotta keep your eyes peeled to spot him. Also, Tony 'Paulie Walnuts' Sirico is in a few of the opening scenes, including the mailman/pizza oven scene. --Bradley Whitford plays an annoying tv reporter in a few episodes of NYPD Blue's first season. You might remember David Caruso putting a gun to his face, and asking him if he can tell whether or not the gun is loaded. --David Schwimmer also had a memorable part in that first season of NYPD Blue (NYPDB fans know this, but I doubt that others do). As did Anna Gunn (Mrs Bullock from Deadwood). --Speaking of Deadwood, if you haven't seen "Sexy Beast" yet, go find a copy (Ian McShane as Brit crime boss). --If any of these were too obvious, El D, you can yell at me, but I don't care if you like it or not. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Harrison Ford in Apocalypse Now. I didn't read the thread so that was probably mentioned, [/ QUOTE ] Yes. Try reading the thread next time. What I was extra surprised about was that he accepted such a geeky small-time role. This was 3-4 years after Star Wars, but maybe SW was more of a cult piece and at the time he was starving for work. I dunno. Suffice it to say, him playing the role of random four-eyed gopher seemed strange to me. [/ QUOTE ] Star Wars was huge in the Box Office ('77 I think) but Apocalype Now(79) apparently took 16 mos. just to shoot. I bet he was part of the project before he even started to get popular from SW. |

Many people said Ben Affleck movies, but they were all wrong. The first knowable movie he was in was Buffy the Vampire Slayer as simply a basketball player who goes uncredited. I saw that movie a few months ago and I was blown away at all of the famous people in that movie I didn't remember the first time I saw it. Even Paul Reubens was in it as a weird vampire, Pee Wee!
imdb of Buffy edited to add link so people can see all the famous up and comers like Hilary Swank and David Arquette |

When I started reading, Stallone in Bananas was one of my first picks.
Kirsten Dunst has been well known since Little Women, so you have to have her from before 1994. Bill Paxton is in The Terminator. John Ratzenberger is in Empire Strikes Back, but is so hard to spot since he's wrapped up in a parka, that may not count. Jamie Farr (as Jameel Farah), Sidney Poitier, Vic Morrow, and Paul Mazursky are all in Blackboard Jungle, although this might be too well known for some of them. Of course everyone knows Ashley Judd was on ST:TNG, might as well get it out of the way though. Joe Pesci is in Once Upon A Time In America as is Danny Aiello, who is also in Godfather Pt. 2. Jennifer Connelly has a pretty big part in Once Upon A Time In America as the young Deborah, though most seem to forget her or not identify her as the later grown-up actress. How about Ally Sheedy on Hill Street Blues? |
