i don't know i mean i know the stat geeks have their special formulas and all that, and i acknowledge that his OBP is very strong historically, but his power numbers are just pitiful in comparison to the other two. he's a vastly overpaid, fragile player IMO. one 100+ RBI season??

Playing in LA and with bad hitter teammates make it hard to get to 100 RBI. You can't fault him for being on poor offensive teams.

but can't i fault him for playing an average of about 65% of his team's games over his career? and being on the wrong side of 30 when the red sox signed him to this deal?
