How did you afford your heroine? And how much did it cost you (for a single sess and total)? [/ QUOTE ] One dosage is $10 (10 for $80), but I was doing at least 5 bags a day at my high point. Affording it wasn't a problem, because I was selling weed, and the dope dealer was one of my customers. It basically didn't cost me anything. |

Layzie, I'm not sure this has been axed, and I've read the whole thread (well, it's been going on for a few days...).
Have you seen the show "Intervention" and can you relate? They occasionally have heroin users on. This past week they had the son of the lead singer for Three Dog Night (who himself was an ex-junkie). The kid apparently shot up FIFTEEN times a day. If you have seen it, were your circumstances/experiences similar? Thanks, G. |

Sadly, I know people who shoot up this often. I am pretty sure I have done this myself, but not every day. I probably shot up, on average, 3 times a day. |

Did you have an intervention? If so can you tell us what that was like and who was involved?
Thanks for your contribution. |

I don't have a question, but this is easily the most fascinating thread I've ever read on this site.
Someone needs to change Layzie's title to "Prison Expert." |

Here's a real basic question about shooting heroin.
Why do you tie your arm off when you shoot up? |

You are awesome for answering every question so far. Dont feel obliged, but here are my questions:
(I read through 90% of this thread, but if one of these questions is a reprint just ignore it) -Did the thought of trying to escape ever cross your mind? -What should the laws regarding heroin use be reformed to? (Completely legal? completely illegal? somewhere in between?) -Why drug do you consider more serious/dangerous: heroin or cocaine? heroine or crack? -Can you elaborate on how you got caught w/ 2 oz of weed and 20 pills of x? Did someone rat you out, or did a cop find them in your car during a routine stop, or what? -How can they prove you had the intent to distribute? -Was Requiem for a Dream at all a realistic depiction of heroin addiction? -If one day you have a son, and at age 17 your son decides he wants to try weed, would you let him? |

Here's a real basic question about shooting heroin. Why do you tie your arm off when you shoot up? [/ QUOTE ] It makes the vein harden, and bulge so that the needle will slide into it easier. When it's in, you draw back the plunger slightly to see if blood enters the syringe. If blood enters, then you are in the vein. If you shoot and miss the vein, you won't get high and your arm will bubble up for a short period of time. |

-Do some prisoners "go into a shell" when they get to prison and refuse to interact or talk to anyone? Are these the people who have it the hardest socially?
-Is the movie cliche that if you shoot someone up with heroin, even involuntarily, that there is a good chance that the person will become addicted to heroin true? |
