how many hands do you use on a villain, typically, before you place a real tag on someone whether they're winning or losing.
your own read is at least 50k hands before you know how you're doing, so how can you peg a villain to be winning or losing, if you've been datamining (key phrase cuz u haven't been watching them) if you don't have a certain # of hands on them? i like 500 hands to be a good indicator. in the past i've used PT to click on the summary tab to see how bad a certain level is based on the winning/losing % of players at the stake i was datamining but i really feel this is flawed. after putting a filter of 500 hands on i have the winning players to be greater than the losing players (only by 10% or so). clearly this can not be a good thing, whether it is partly due to the UIGEA or not is not of any concern to me. the bottom line is these long term players are winning and not losing. what # of hands do you usually need to consider someone a losing player, and do u end up chasing them around??? i'd like to hear from regulars at the 25/50nl stake. for me i've only found 1 longterm losing player at 50nl on FTP constantly playing. JIMMY1969. horrible player. |

i mean, i just try to look for exploitable leaks. sometimes stats will tell you what they are, sometimes they won't. the best way to figure out if someone is a winner or loser is to watch their play - a few showdowns will give you information that 1000's of datamined hands can miss.

i started to do that with mtt's, playing only 2 tables - and my results got a lot better. cash is diff though, i think there are enough guys playing exploitably enough to multitable effectively.

[/ QUOTE ] But your improvement will not be as quick. I think its more +EV to improve as quick as possible instead of put hands in to get a roll up and not be set skill wise. I still get in over 1000 hands a day when I 3 table. Should easily get in over 24k hands this month without much effort. |
