[ QUOTE ] Jesus [censored] christ this must be a level. If not [censored] this [censored] poster. I [censored] hate you. [ QUOTE ] Hellmuth still in with 25 players left. 16 cash. 148 of the best players in the world started. I guess Hellmuth plays ok against the best players, huh? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] is it exciting for you to have so many "(censored)" words in your post? you seem very worked up. Hellmuth has the most bracelets, final tables and cashes in WSOP history. Does that make you mad? [/ QUOTE ] Not since Rainman has someone gotten so much mileage out of saying the same thing over and over again. McCutter: Are you an excellent driver? Does KMart suck? |

I just don't understand why the tournament structure isn't finalized until after the majority of players have registered. They could easily have a program setup that adjusts the size of starting stacks and the speed of the blinds as more players register. [/ QUOTE ] Because if there weren't a set structure announced, no one would register, because players have this kooky idea that they should know the details of the event before they put their money in. |

OK, so the average HORSE stack is 34 big blinds. What do you think is typically the average stack on Day 4 of WPT Hold-em tournament? Isn't it usually around 30 big blinds? At the start of the last level Day 2 of this year's $5 NLHE tournament, the average stack was 20 big blinds. You can't compare this to a NLHE cash game; no one has 100 big blinds in a NLHE tournament after the second level. And limit games play much smaller relative to the blind in any case. If you have 20 big bets in a limit game, you can basically play at least four hands before you must risk all your chips. If you have an average stack in a NL tournament, you could easily be out in a single hand. [/ QUOTE ] First of all, I was comparing a NL Cash Game to a Limit Cash game, nothing about tournaments. You calculate NL stacks by big BLINDS and Limit stacks by big BETS. The poster I was responding to said you can lose the same amount of MONEY just as quick in both games, but I was arguing that the frequency of losing most or all the money happens MORE OFTEN in limit than NL. I was just applying that last concept to the tourney. So basically I'm agreeing with you in a way--you can't really compare this HORSE tourney to a NL tourney. However, you CAN compare a limit HORSE tourney to a limit CASH game in terms of stack sizes. You said it, 20 big BETS is around 4 hands and you're pretty much all-in in a limit game. And how often to you play 4 hands and lose all 4? VERY frequently because in limit you have to see more cards than NL. Bottomline, this is a FAST structure and doesn't allow much play compared to last year. If you run bad you're done. |

[ QUOTE ] I dont think Gabe should be disrespected as some novice. [/ QUOTE ] He's not a novice, but how do you think he would fare if he had to play HORSE with Doyle, Chip, Phil & Barry day in and day out? [/ QUOTE ] Who cares, that has nothing to do with this donkament. |
