And I still (for the third time) challenge ZJ to post a hand he thinks warrants in depth discussion to see what happens to that post. In my experience when a big name player posts a hand all the other highstakes posters come out of the woodwork.

But if it either just slides off the frontpage without any discussion or it only gets replies from lowstakes posters telling him to push preflop I guess he has a point.

[/ QUOTE ]

Me posting a hand would not prove anything. If it gets tons of responses, some people will conclude that's proof that there are enough high stakes posters to warrant a new forum. Others will see the same results and conclude that the current forum is just fine for high stakes discussion.

If it doesn't get any responses, some people will conclude that it's because no one wants to discuss high stakes hands, while others will conclude that it's because the current forum has too much junk in the way.

Name more than 20 posters who you would consider part of the core group of that forum. Obviously, there are more than 20 people that post there, but I'm talking about people that contribute day in and day out.

Zeejustin is definitely right in this thread. I do not understand how anyone can argue against this.

Here's a list of names off the top of my head:

Me
Jman28
Citanul
Curtains
Raptor
FieryJustice
Daliman
Shaniac
Ansky
MDK
Ilya
Rojo

I'm sure there are a ton more names, but this is what I came up with in the 60 seconds I spent thinking about it.

Hes not high stakes and posts all the time, Curtains Post all the time, Daliman Posts, Newt has posted, Rojo has posted like 3 hands just showing that Curtains pushes any two. Jman has been posting. Maybe if you post some hands and reply and what not then theyll see how it goes and make a decision to split or not. OT and meaningless posts do seem to be everywhere though.

20 is probably a good number for who posts on average every day. And probably anywhere from 20-100 posters who posts anywhere from a coupe of times a week to once a month. Do you really think there will be 20 high stakes SnG posters who will post at least once a day, some a lot more, and an underforest of high stakes posters who will post a couple of posts a week. That is the situatiuon in MHNL, doubt it will be like that here.

Even if we only get 1/3rd as many core posters, the new forum will be a definate success.

I've seen the discussion that Curtains and Jman threads generate and I've seen how fast they fall off the front page. I'm not interested in this kind of discussion. I want something better. [censored] the status quo. We can certainly do a lot better.

ZJ is correct, these threads fall off the front page very quickly. Too quickly IMO.
