I read that article, and would like to point out that it doesn't deal with sex slavery at all. that whole article was about her *voluntarily* engaging in sex to pay off 40k in debt she built up "shopping" back home.

It looks like her time in L.A. was the subject of an earlier article (I couldn't find the link) that might involve real "sex slavery" but lets be a little fair, the girl was using smugglers to sneak her in to a country so she could pay off her shopping debts. this isn't the story of some young farm girl whose dad took out a $300 "loan" that the girl was indentured for years to pay off, you can't get 40k in credit and be that much of a bumkin.

please don't mistake this for an argument that sex slavery does not exist in america, just that this article does not accurately portray the girls story, so it can be more sensationalist.

I've never seen one in an AMP. There is usually a woman in charge. I've always wondered about that but I've also never seen any 'trouble' happen at the place. At the non-Asian places I've frequented they usually have some big guy for security but they've always been quiet. The only occasions when there has been violence is the couple of times I got caught up in a bust. I'll tell a short story:

One time I was in the middle of guess what when we hear a crashing at the front door and shouting. This means the police have busted in and are rampaging thru the rather small apartment. If this ever happens to you don't bother with your underwear, just get your pants on as soon as possible. You probably won't even have time for your shirt. Anyway, there I was up against the wall and so was the guy from the next room. The cop gives me a quick pat-down and then goes on to the next guy who starts giving the cop some real loud [censored] and the cop doesn't like it, of course. Things start to get really hairy between them and I speak up and say:

'Excuse me officer, I just want to let you know something.'
'What?, he asks.
'I just want you to know I'm here all by myself and have nothing to do with that guy.'
'Ok', he says and leads the guy off to the back room from which proceeded to come thumps, bangs and groanss. True to the last detail.

Lesson: Be polite to the police no matter what.

A decent place is where you get laid w/o a hassle. I've been pm'd in this thread about a 2p2'ers friend who only got a hj. This happens, I guess, but rarely to me. If this happens to you you've got to try another AMP until you find the right one.

I was ripped off a couple of times. Once the girl left the room and didn't come back after I paid her. Another time I think the girl was high as a kite and couldn't perform. There's not much you can do about it except swallow the loss and leave. Making a scene is not for me because I'm not a tough guy and I'm also not crazy.

I went to one of the best in NYC at the time. Celebrities went there to and they were VERY careful not to let the customers run into each other. You'll have to ferret them out yourself, but if you're in NYC it shouldn't be to hard using the personals and classified in the Voice.

I finally read the whole story on that You Mi girl (previous articles are linked in the sidebar toward the top of the page). She's really not much of a victim at all. She racked up $40,000 in debt from shopping and partying. They try to make it sound like she didn't know what she was getting herself into, but it says she was embarrassed to tell her parents and worried about how she'd repay it, so I think she had a pretty good idea.

Then, she hired people to bring her into the US illegally which they did and interviewed for hostess jobs. While the hostess jobs may have been a front, it sounds like she just had a massive acne breakout, and totally freaked out when she got there, making her not cute enough to get a hostess job. This is pretty reasonable.

So then she works as a prostitute for a couple months, pays off her debt to the people that brought her to the US, then continues to work as a whore for several months after to repay her shopping debts, before finally suckering one of her johns into becoming her boyfriend. This seems more like an illegal immigration issue than it does one of "sex slaves".

My dad and step-mom are (legit) massage therapists on Long Island. My step-mom used to get a lot of calls from guys obviously wanting sex. They would ask about "release" massages etc. Does that mean that there are plenty of sex massages in the area?

I think that the attitude elduque has comes from stifled feelings about sex. Some things come to mind:

He feels that women hate sex, they just give it to men as a favor for being loving and caring. Once a deep emotional bond is developed a woman can enjoy sex.

To him, sex with a hooker is basically rape, since you are forcing her to have sex with you by providing money, and women hate sex. I think elduque probably idealizes both sex and women as well, and that it may cheapen his own sexual experiences if he feels that even some women would sell themselves willingly.

These are deep feelings, and probably not salient, so that if you asked him, he would deny it, but they still guide his salient feelings on the issues of prostitution.
