As soon as I walk over to the table, this happens.
Player: "Card him please."
Floor: "No, no, it's fine. He's 21."
Player: "He's not 21. Card him."
Floor: "It's ok. He was here yesterday."
Player: "I want you to card him."
Floor: "Are you an undercover cop?"
Player: "Yes, card him."
Floor: "Can I see your ID?"
Me: "...I don't have it with me."
Player: "Haha, I'm just kidding."

Day 3, Friday. I wake up a bit after noon and go to gamble some more. Today was pretty boring actually. I check my cash and I had about $6700. That's good enough for the 40/80.

While I'm playing, I decide I want to try a professional massage for once. Amazing! I would recommend against getting them while playing poker. I became relaxed enough that I lost focus and played worse than normal, but man, did it feel good. I also discovered having my hair pulled is a huge turn-on. For some reason she also stuck her fingers in my ears for a few seconds?? I dunno.

As a quick sidenote, I saw the fastest dealer ever, a very cute asian girl. I don't know her name, but I tipped her an extra $20 at the end of her down. She was amazingly fast, nice and always smiled a little at the players.

I make a little bit, maybe a few hundred and decide it's time to move up again. I sit at a 60/120 game and wow, believe it or not, it is even better than the 40. One of my first hands, UTG raises and the entire table calls. It averaged four to the flop and there was this crazy asian woman playing around 70/50/2. I think I made a bad call down against her.

She raises UTG, which means absolutely nothing. A bunch of people call and I do too with QJo on the button.

Flop comes J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. It's checked to me and I bet. Asian woman calls, as well as two others. Turn is A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Asian bets out, fold fold and I call. River is A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and she bets again. [censored]. I call like a fish and she tables A8o.

Pretty soon I have around 9k, but the lack of sleep is catching up to me. I cash out and sleep for about five, six hours then come back at midnight for more. I get on the waiting list for 100/200 and sit down at 60/120 again. Broke even at the 60 until finally they call me over to the 100/200. I meet jghoram (I'm 99% spelling this wrong or completely wrong) and we talk for a bit, nice guy. The girl from yesterday came by a few times to talk to me too.

I bought into the 100/200 for 4k and decide if I lose it, I'm going to move down. You should already know what is coming. Nothing much happens for me and I'm down to 3k. All of a sudden half the players leave and the game is now four handed. YES.

SB opens, I 3-bet KxK[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the BB.
Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] rag[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Check, bet, call.
Turn: Qx
Check, bet, raise, call.
River: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] hurray!
He bets, I raise, he 3-bets. [censored]. [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored]. I make a crying call and he shows AQo.

Now I'm down to less than 2k, around 1500 or so. I pull 2k out of my wallet and put it behind my rack. I'm pretty pissed off now and decide NOW I AM GOING TO KRUSH THEM. I win the next four hands and I'm nearly even. Sadly, they move me over to the main game. The game is bad, I can't get a table change and Silkyslim is done playing, so I cash out. I am maybe $500 winner and I go to try and convince people to go to the [censored] spearmint rhino again. Tongni is stuck big in the 400/800 game and asks to borrow money. I give him nearly everything I have on me, 9k. It is definitely very strange to be handing over 9k to someone I met two days ago and having no idea what his last name is, but for some reason, I was comfortable with it. Everyone is busy playing, but I AM GOING TO THE SPEARMINT RHINO OR ANOTHER STRIP CLUB TONIGHT GOD DAMN IT. Silky and I head back to the hotel, where I should be sleeping, but I can't.

In case I forget, Tongni talks in his sleep "six vs six, sixes vs wired sixes" hahahah

Next time I go to commerce, I am going to try and talk to one of the good SH LHE pros to discuss theory. I'd like to talk to Barry Greenstein, Todd Brunson or Jennifer Harmon. I saw them all there yesterday, but I feel rude walking up to them when they are playing and I don't know when I can catch them being idle.

Never confuse brilliance with running good.

[/ QUOTE ]I know when I run good. I did run good. I'm not saying I didn't. My point is I played a notch above my normal play.

I had about 1.5k-2k so I go to the 20/40 game. A cute girl sits to my left. She notices I am solid and I suppose that gave her the go-ahead to start making little comments to me when someone else plays bad, but she is cute so I smile and say it happens. She doesn't talk much to me though, only the comments... until Tongni calls me. The volume on my phone is high enough that surrounding people can sometimes hear a bit. He mentions he is in the 1/2 or 3/6 game and keeps telling me how I shouldn't be playing in a game that small and I should move up because he will give me money for transfers online etc. Tongni is always looking out for my best interests.

After I got off the phone, the girl's eyes light up and she starts asking me about what limits I normally play and such. I tell her the truth and we have a good conversation for a while.

[/ QUOTE ]

I honestly have no idea what that implies.

I will say - I enjoyed the stories. I don't play at that level, and who knows how long it will be before I ever do (I like NL and tourneys a lot more, anyway).

Here's what I don't get, though: why does everyone think it's so funny to piss away all this $$ at absurdly high limits (for his br)? And you gave 9k to a total stranger??So let me get this straight - you have the ability to grind away in 3-6 months half of what I make in a year, yet you continually blow 5-10k at a time on higher games. I thought that outplaying your bankroll was one of the first no-nos that people learned to avoid - guess not.

I do know one thing, though - people usually don't change until they've hit rock bottom. I wish you would listen to the Dean/Dude/Metronomicon, but you won't. Good luck to you...you are going to need it.

You do know you're suppossed to tip an extra $20 for the "ear fetish" option right?

That is probably wise.

Keep the reports coming, I love this thread.

Dave,

I don't. What is your point?

Dean

[/ QUOTE ]

Should be obvious.

[/ QUOTE ]

That if I played live poker I would be taking advantage of the degenerates? Or that if I played live I would see people laughing at them?

[/ QUOTE ]

If you play, live or online, you are taking advantage of them. Playing live just forces you to catch a glimpse of it.

EDIT: Going further, if you geniunely have problem with Kurosh because you think he's a gambling addict, you're on thin ice playing at all.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think the Kurosh situation is a little sadder than a typical losing gambling addict.

Because with Kurosh, his problem keeps him from realising his full potential, if he could control his impulses Poker could be a very positive thing for him. Whereas with 98% of Gambling addicts, they are destined to be broke anyways.
