Default Re: Official November thread: General Discussion, Goals, Winrates, etc

My biggest downswing is ~60buyins in the level I was regularry playing, I tried to recoup losses in higher games so I would say in reality it was more like 30-35.

It started out because of bad luck, but soon enought I began playing really bad, my stats went to 42/25 in 6handed and I had many multitabeling session where I was playing 60/40 and just hitting the bet pot button on every street and pushing allin preflop to 4bb pots.

After recouping that downswing and starting to play little more solid my biggest downswing has been 14buyins in $5 $10nl.

Uggggggggggggggggggh it's like I can't win anymore JESUS [censored] CHRIST.

What was everybodys biggest downswing (buyins) and over how many hands? Was it related more to playing awful and tilting, natural variance, a lot of leaks, etc?

Basically I'm feeling like crap right now, I've only made a few plays that I really regret. Usually when I drop a bunch of money I can point to a bunch of hands I misplayed and leaks in my game and then just improve and it seemed like it worked. But the first three days of this month on UB have been sick. Every time I get AA / top pair / any overpair I have to fold it because the board gets really ugly and / or somebody shows a lot of aggression. It's just sick, never seen anything like it in my life. I just feel completely helpless and it feels like everybody is just pushing me around but if I ever take a stand I got shown the best hand every time. I've had so many tough decisions and marginal plays the past three days and I feel like I'm making the correct play usually but it's just not working out at all. I definitely have leaks in my game, but I think I'm playing pretty good overall, could be wrong though. Anybody here play 400nl/600nl on UB regularly? PM me.

Words of encouragement / advice anybody (yes I'm an emotional wreck right now)?

I'm basically in your exact same situation, except maybe a bit worse. I saw your post above about moving to UB, which is what I just did, and I swear to [censored] christ I can't win anything there. I'm not sitting in tough games, but I can't get a hand to hold up save my very soul. It's really bizzare. I'm down like 18 buyins since switching to UB, which is easily the worst downswing I've ever had. Then I see hands like this, which are absolutely puzzling. Villain was like 27/20, but a habitual linestepper. I felt like I was definitely ahead the whole way.

Villain shows... Kc9c? WTF WTF

That's pretty much my last 3 weeks in a nutshell.

I can't give you too much advice, because I'm in the same spot, other than to say that the UB games are VERY aggro. You feel like you're getting pushed around a lot, which makes sense given what I've seen at these games. You might be folding the best hand a lot, but I can't be sure. My main problem is getting it in with the best hand and losing or having monster vs monster against a 55/35/3 guy who I cannot give credit for a monster. Maybe that's a leak, but I feel like theres been basically no clear folds in big pots that I've played recently.

I basically puked myself to sleep last night (-$5k at 3/6). It was gross. But yeah, PM me if you want to talk more.

Aisle-

In August i dropped 19k which was a around 25 3/6 bi and a few 5/10's

In October I had a 14k downer which was 8k 3/6, 3k 5/10, 3k 2/4. It happens and when it was happening I thought that I was playing fine, but I am pretty sure I wasn't.

It usually starts off though with similar things to what you said and then you start to tilt/feel bad for yourself and end up sticking it in all the wrong spots and when you do get it in good you end up getting sucked out on anyhow.

It's miserable, but there's not much you can do. Just try and play good and don't try and win it all back in one sitting.

Best of Luck

aisle,

last week, i dropped 23k playing 5/10. that came from SIX straight losing sessions (the worst of which was a -9k session). i attributed about 1/3 of that to tilt, the other 2/3 to bad beats and coolers.

yesterday, i finally broke that streak with a +3k session. i hope i turned it around.

Thanks guys, definitely helps me a lot. I've probably tilted off a buyin or two, which is actually a bit much for me considering I rarely tilt. UB's software is not good for a tilter considering you get like 50000 hands per hour single tabling.

AP, I've had at least 4 x 10 buyin downswings since June/July.
