Now is a good time to start playing mtt's, now that the cheaters are in hiding. [/ QUOTE ] lol thats not why I didn't play them. Whats interesting is that if it was legal to multiaccount MTTs, I actually would play them on a regular basis (for me itd be the only way to get enough action to play solely MTTs on a regular basis). Unfortunately it's not, so I won't. |

[ QUOTE ]
aee, As you're soliciting individuals and giving them advice about their legal options, I hope you don't recommend anyone who, like ZeeJustin, was also running an illegal US-based affiliate program (signing up players and taking part in receiving a percentage of the rake generated by their play in an offshore gambling operation - effectively materially taking part in those operations) pursue legal action against Party or do anything to draw attention to their activities. This is something that local, state, or federal officials can easily prosecute people for, and for any high profile affiliates based in the US, it is probably just a matter of time before someone starts looking into them. [/ QUOTE ] I would probably not be concerned about this issue if I were an affillate, because Party's downside is significantly greater than an individual affillate's. Also, I'd be surprised if the feds would try to establish new law in the online poker arena by going after affillates first. [Then again, if they could, they might.] An affillate agreeement/contract may or may not be be enforceable under US law, and while Party may be concerned that some affillates have not stricly honored their agreement(s), my guess is that Party would rather not litigate any disputes over such things in open court. [Note: the complete wishy-washiness of my post is indicative of my complete lack of knowledge about this issue.] |

Are you kidding me UFC? Snitching was obviously the only way PP was going to lift a [censored] finger.
Lets say we are all pro athletes in an individual sport that requires extreme fitness - all performance enhancing drugs are banned(stated in the TOA I promise). Slowly but surely one of your main competitors(who is in amazing shape to begin with) "WeeJustin" isnt so small anymore and is starting to get bigger, stronger, and faster.. You are almost 100% positive that he is taking a banned substance to enhance performance, and you wonder what you should do - would you rather sit back and watch some rule breaking juice monkey take a 1st place prize package that you put an honest effort into winning? - or would you demand that he be piss tested to see if he actually is just cheating scum. I seriously [censored] hope youd pick the ladder of the two. And as an aspiring pro I would hope that the rest of the poker community would feel the same way.. We live in an extremely dishonest world and it is obviously evident that people will do whatever they can to get ahead at whatever they do. We are not in grade school anymore, snitching is a necessarry annoyance that comes with rotten unethical people - if Real money and real lives did not depend on the integrity of this game then oviously none of us would give a [censored] and none of us would speak out, but thats not the case - I'm not going to sit back and watch someone cheat me out of my money just because the rest of the class will call me a tattle-tale -im going to speak up and have him rightfully punished. I'm only 19 years old, how come i feel some of you are even less mature than I ? |

I along with others always figured the high buy in MTT's were scandalous. It's just too much money and the avenues for cheating are too easy. I'm not surprised Curtain's contact says all his friends multiaccounted. I remember reading the cardplayer article on the August side bet that Gigabet had made on stars. The contest were, not surprisingly, JJProdigy won. I figured my hunches were right after that article, and was surprised Cardplayer would have published that about the MTT scene. Basically all these top players were winning tournies left and right. The article referred to teams of players(up to ten) playing on single accounts. In retrospect I'm not surprised everyone figured multi-accounting was ok. Glad the majority of these pro's will stop doing that now.
