[ QUOTE ]
Now show the hands where you made horrible bluffs and horrible calls, if you are losing a ton, there are def some [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure there are a few, but most of the "horrible" bluffs are actually good bluffs that should have worked, or at least should have worked often enough to be profitable but got called at a higher rate than expected. There aren't really any horrible calls. And if they are, they are the same calls I made when I was running good and winning at a healthy rate. Technically I still have a winrate for April -- 1 PTBB/100 -- but I'm down about $180 in actual poker play. Today's session, in which I quit at 900 hands, I would be up about $90 at 10NL if I had won all of those pots in which I was either a huge favorite or overwhelmingly likely to have the best hand. This has been happening to me nearly every time I sit down for the past month. I can't even bring myself to play, because not playing and making no money is better than playing and losing it. edit: the $90 number would be the difference between when I ended up and where I would have been. I am down $30 for the day, I "should" be up $60 or something. |

[ QUOTE ] "i always try to make moves at the wrong time" Seriously, I'm not trying to bash you or whatever, but there is absolutely no reason to make moves at 2nl. Honestly, I've never even played 2nl, but you should just bet your strong hands hard, never bluff, thats right never. This play is just tilt/spew. [/ QUOTE ] i do exactly as you describe and lose, i do what i did above one time and lose. im not sure what else to try. if i had won that hand, how many pats on the back would i get for "reading" villian. all of the comments you guys give me are results oriented to the point that it does no good to post crap here anymore. think what you want, i dont care anymore. [/ QUOTE ] No one would pat you on the back for making that read. KQo is NOT a strong hand, what are you shoving it in for? What worse hand are you dominating? Do you think he is doing this with K4o? Either way, wait for a big hand and stack him. 5NL is trivially easy to beat if you'd just stop trying to "make moves" and play some poker. Your thought processes are 100% wrong if you ever think that KQo hand was anything but atrocious. |

[/ QUOTE ] First let me link you to these two things... http://www.google.com/search?source=...wo.com+fgators http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...com+gambler2k4 Read and you'll realize how silly you're being. The guy in the 1st link, FGators, is not even a bad player, but gets ridiculed a lot because he is too stubborn to learn. The 2nd guy, well he pushed with KQ. One thing I've noticed is that you don't pay attention to stack size. You cannot profitably shove stuff like AK and KQ for 200+ bb even if your opponent is a complete moron. Shortstacks are a bit diffrent. Try downloading pokerstove and finding out... KQ is about 60-40 against a RANDOM hand. If he shoves any broadway, any ace, any pocket pair, you're a coinflip to win. Thus, vs even a complete idiot this is questionable. BTW, I haven't played poker for a while after getting pwned after I tried to move up. I'll make a 5 nl video so I can get a grasp on the basics again. Interested? [/ QUOTE ] i will read both of those threads. i do pay attention to stack size but have never seen anything about full stack vs full stack, just to be careful about short stacks and raising against them, especially if they are super loose as you may be facing a push at any given time. im totally interested in a 5NL video. i have asked more than twice for regulars to make a 5NL video, 2-4 tables of TAG, perferrably on stars so that i can see what they are doing different than myself. no one ever wants to do it or the videos that were made a month or so ago were 10 minutes TAG and 10 minutes LAG which does me no good since they didnt get too many hands in. [/ QUOTE ] Have you read any poker books? Do you know the fundamental theory of poker? Do you know %s? This is the most BASIC stuff that you should keep in the back of your mind at all times. There aren't even any grinders at 2nl that I'm aware of, it's just all a bunch of 60/8/1 players, how could you not be completely dominating it? I pretty much go down there just to goof off and play like a donkey, and I'm beating it for like 15BB/100 |

Triggerle,
Thanks for the encouragement. It's funny that technically I'm not on a downswing, but being break-even while cashing out to pay bills and rent is almost the same. I'm aware of the reality of downswings but I seriously am likely to be bust soon before I come out of this one. I wouldn't be so upset if this were not the case. NL Newbie, Yes please make a 4-table video if it's not too much trouble. |

if there are some videos of 5NL coming, i'll make another one either early tomorrow morning or sometime during the day tomorrow. it probably wont be the entire session because my sessions of late have been 2-3 hours long at minimum. gotta get those hands in and playing two tables doesnt accomplish that task all too quickly.
