[ QUOTE ]
Zod, I think that's true, I just think that Desmond's loyalty is greater to her than it is to anybody else. He's come close to selling Charlie down the river before, and I think he might do it again. [/ QUOTE ] But wasn't he ready to sacrifice himself for Charlie at the end? Considering he is weighing the life of Charlie, someone he barely even knows, vs ever seeing his beloved again I think we can cut him some slack if he has struggled over the issue of saving Charlie. Yet every time he ends up doing (or trying to do) the right thing. |

I'm with Dids. I don't necessarily believe any Desmond vision that I didn't see for myself. Who's to say that he didn't see himself drowning, used Charlie to do the deed, and then his conscience got the best of him in the end?

His visions have always been Charlie dying. As stated in his flashback episode, you can't change the universe, atleast you can keep trying but it'll atleast keep correcting itself.

I think he was just trying to remove any 2nd guessing from charlies mind bc he knows how bad charlie wants claire to be rescued and the threat of desmond going instead and it effing up the vision was enough to remove any doubt or hesitation from charlies mind. |

did anyone else find a hint of sexual connotation when rose said
"if you're going to be in the bushes all night lets get you into something dark." |

His visions have always been Charlie dying. [/ QUOTE ] He saw Locke's speech to the Losties before it happened at the beginning of the season. That had nothing to do with Charlie. |

Is it possible that Desmond was planning on going in the entire time? Maybe Charlie was never supposed to drown but Desmond needed to bring him along for another reason.
My other guess is if Charlie dies it is not unnecessarily to get everyone rescued. Desmond may have another reason but he knows that if he tells Charlie that Claire will get rescued he will sacrifice himself. |
