To be honest, I did donate money; it was small... $100. I don't really care about the money because it's just not alot of money. My main issue right now is what his actions mean:

Lets say a respected poster's kid/loved one has cancer/some other sucky disease somewhere down the line and it is actually legit and he has every intention of giving all the money towards his/her treatment. First, I would hope that 2+2 is not their only avenue for help, but on the same token, I think it sucks that he will no longer be given the benefit of the doubt. I know I will never donate to another person on this forum again; I just feel like an idiot and really believed that no way this guy can possibly do anything shady given the situation. I hope his chick leaves him for good and he is never allowed to see his kid again; although I really don't think he cares.

Ugh, I didn't propose any rule

If it were me, I'd put a moratorium on charitable efforts on BBV.

You asked me what I'd do. I offerd you my (hypothetical) opinion. In my mind, this is not "proposing a rule."

LOL and I was about to respond to GW by saying "This is where he says that there's a difference between stating what he'd do and proposing a rule." Are you sure you're not in law school?

gw/adanthar, as far as charitable drives go, a good rule would be that the monies are to be sent to a legit organization. personal requests should not be allowed.

I always hated Vig, he made a horrible call and posted it trying to make me look bad. I use to grind tons of 200nl and all of his tables seriously had waiting list. Heres a hand from awhile back when I try to bluff him before I knew how bad he sucked.

POKERSTARS GAME #7583340133: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ($1/$2) - 2006/12/24 - 06:36:45 (ET)

MetalMover collected $411.60 from pot
Yello man said, "vn"
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $414.60 | Rake $3
Board [8d 8s 6s 5h Jc]
Seat 1: snakekilla88 (big blind) showed [Tc Ah] and lost with a pair of Eights
Seat 2: Yello man folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 3: Spiffjuan folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 4: sss0662 folded before Flop
Seat 5: MetalMover (button) showed [Ad Ks] and won ($411.60) with a pair of Eights
Seat 6: Mirxer (small blind) folded before Flop

Vig = metalmover obviously. It looks like a really good call but its just really a standard bad call where he got lucky in this instance. I sucked back then and should of bet flop, but his river call is absolutely horrible. I usually have him burned here over 90+%. Theres just a ton of hands where this dbag was just on mad tilting and playing like [censored].

Cliff notes: He sucks at poker. I can easily see how he burns most of his money in cash games. Vig- If you read this find a new hobby then ripping honest people off, and seek professional help; either GA or 3-bet.net. .

This whole drama has vindicated my basic lack of trust in humanity. Especially degenerate gamblers like vig.

my stance:

nobody made a mistake in allowing this to happen. Anyone that thinks a mistake was made is being results oriented. Each donator knew there was some (albeit small) risk that $ wouldn't reach mrs. vig or that it was a scam.
