yes, I think someone already demanded some pics. WTF teddy? screw the Stars correspondance we want to see the goods. You can not expect the majority of the forum to come to sound conclusions without first seeing what we are working with here?

[ QUOTE ] hey teddy, i, for one, really appreciate you bringing this public light and following thru thoroughly. it would be very easy to say [censored] it and give up due to all the idiots doubting you. please keep us updated as this progresses as i think its quite alarming. also, you likely already realized, but note the posters who believe you vs. the ones who post wannabe witty/investigative/nitpicking one liners doubting you. its quite clear that the respected forum members are behind you. ignore the other turds. For the recorded, my 55 yr old dad who has never played holdem in a casino or for real money 4 tables play money on party when he decides to play.......honestly multitabling isnt that hard to do if you arent trying to maximize ev against decent opposition.

What are most likely? You may choose 2 Mom accidentally installed bot looking for useful poker software on the net Mom intentionally installed bot Mom is unrelenting pokeraholic playing hours on end Trojan/Virus The brother Pokerstars is buggin' Other [/ QUOTE ] This is a difficult Bayes' theorem problem. The fact that Stars says it's only 95% sure leads me to think that a Stars mistake is most probable. The other options all seem a lot less likely (a priori) than 5%. |

[ QUOTE ] Why do you have to be computer savvy to multi-table? All you do is click buttons. Stars software always brings the action table to the foreground. If she is playing a TAG-style, I don't see how it would be so difficult to achieve. She isn't 85. [/ QUOTE ] Six-tabling is not that easy, especially to someone who hasn't grown up with/isn't familiar with computers. Its easy for us because we mostly grew up in the computer generation, or we played winning poker for years before playing online and workign up to 6 tables. It sounds like she did neither. She is so unfamiliar with computers/technology that she couldn't figure out how to open a hotmail account (not that hard of a feat), but she can 6-table? [/ QUOTE ] I can 6-table. I struggled to do the simplest things on computers. I'm a bit better now. But just less than 2 years ago I honestly couldn't figure out how to get a pic-avatar up after trying for a LONG time. Finally I had someone do it for me. In December I was trying to post one of those poker-graphs of my huge downswing. It took me over an hour to figure out how to do it in imageshack and whatnot. I have been recommended before to go to [censored] as a music download source. After hours and hours of trying to do it I had zero songs. I couldn't figure it out. And don't even get me started on how freaking stupid and frustrating I think excel/quattro is. On the other hand, I've seen 70 year-old women (and older) hitting buttons on slot-machines and video-poker machines like mad before. 6-tabling on just 1 screen while only paying attention to your own cards (never payihng attention to others actions) would be very simple for someone. In fact, 1-tabling would be extremely boring if you never pay attention. Fold your hand....wait a minute or so for the rest of the hand to play out...then fold another hand. It would be roughly the equivilent of playing one hand of video-poker, waiting a minute and doing nothing, and then playing the next hand. I have no problem believing that someone who is not computer-saavy can 6-table. It just isn't a requirement. |

People seem to have made the assumption that because teddy says his mom plays nano-limits that the bot activity was also at the nano-limits. I didn't read that closely but don't see anything that makes claims about what level the bot activity occurred at nor that it was actually playing poker. It could have been collecting hand histories for all we know. It could have been connected sitting idle doing nothing for 40 hours and then working to provide collusion to another account for the other three. We don't know and Stars doesn't want to tell us. If you believe teddy (and I am inclined to) then neither he nor his mother know the answer to tell us.
The real point of the thread is made very nicely by teddy's mother in her email to him. If you're accused of something by one of these sites, you have absolutely no recourse. I can't say I'm particularly worried, but this thread has made me do some thinking about it and I think it's worthy of some more. As for Stars' great bot detection abilities, maybe Jeff the whiz kid managers can trust can get put on the case of high profile players using multiple accounts in tournaments for months . . . I'm sure that's much more difficult to detect . . . . [/burn] |

Alright well thanks for posting the emails, but without the original email exchange we can't really help you or solve this, if you don't have them fine.
What I'd really liike to know, and if you dont' know I suggest you ask your mother, is what the heck she means by "log files." The only thing I can think of is hand histories, but why the heck would pokerstars ask a user for hand histories when they have them themselves? That part doesn't make any sense at all. Find out what kind of files she actually sent to pokerstars, than maybe you can post them here and we can sort out what they flagged as bot-like play. |

Few comments:
Number 1: Teddy, thanks for taking the time to post all this and bring it to our attention. Its a very peculiar situation and anything related to bot use/detection is very important to the integrity and future of online poker. Number 2: You guys who are questioning Teddy's integrity are [censored] morons. If you have read any of his posts in the past or have even read this whole thread, its ridiculously obvious that he is truthfully telling us everything he knows about the situation. |
