How the heck did this happen. A new post that I could delete and it's got 300 responses before I notice?
Hell- this one has 3 times the posts. It wins. |

I am sympathetic to some of your feelings but to petition Party to lessen his punishment is a bad idea as well as unrealistic.
Sure we've all done/do stupid things and yes, I think some are a bit judgemental and convivced of their own righteousness. Be that as it may, the importance of the integrity of the game is difficult to overstate. People who feel they were cheated do not return to gamble. It's as simple as that. There have to be harsh disincentives to cheaters so that the games continue to go. This is in the site's interest and it is in all players' interest as well, particularly the good ones. Schadenfreude is ugly. There has been a mob mentality here but that isn't cause to do anything differently. None of the people who seem to be personally invested have done much of anything to hurt him except make some threats if they run across him in a card room. And no petition can stop that. The punishment from Party is appropriate and doesn't need to be modified. Mercy can be shown here by not holding a grudge and wishing him the best. The sites still have a situation they need to resolve. As others have pointed out a life as a pro poker player is not a right. Even if his quality of life would take a dramatic downturn it still shouldn't change anything. Let the natural consequences follow and just let it be without indulging any hate or spite. raisins |

bigfishhead,
Much like celebrities and athletes who only remember their bad press, it must be tempting for a dealer to remember only the people that give them grief. Unfortunately in poker, the outlet for expressing one's appreciation for the dealer is through $$$ and not through kind words. I must confess that when I am at the table, I do not confuse the dealers with our simian friends, but it may be hard to tell because all I do is toke or maybe say "thanks". FWIW, as someone who tokes $1 a hand, 75 cents is with the blind hope that a dealer who notes that I toke will someday give me a heads up on cheaters, and 25 cents is because I'm a nice guy and I like the dealer. |

[/ QUOTE ] And for catching these guys 3 times in 10 minutes in a $400-$800 game you'd think someone would be grateful. Not even a "wow, good job dealer! dont f uck with this dealer he'll catch your ass". "Here's $5 dealer, thanks". [/ QUOTE ] For the most part this wont happen. Maybe a "watch those two". Why? Because I will quietly go to the shift mgr (except with card marking suckers whom I will gladly expose to all) tell him whats going on so they can put a camera directly on those involved. This makes it much easier to get them permanantly 86'd. This also is done quietly so it doesnt look bad on the room. If you knew that there were cheaters in the room you probably wouldnt come in. Hence my thoughts. |

How can it be an "official" thread with the ***'s? Nolanfan would have never allowed this to happen. |

evertime i get over 20k i cash out 10k. even though i've met the owners i still dont fully trust them or the govt. of gibralter.
this dude deserves as harsh a punishment as the fake law of "the rock" allows. any hint of cheating on-line will dry up the games. if he truly has talent he'll come back. we've all had to start over before. |

Here's my proposal: 1. Don't take his $. You cannot prove that he cheated for it. 2. Remove all accounts except for the ZeeJustin main account. 3. Give him a 3 month suspension from the sites. 4. Warn him that if he ever does any multiaccounting like this ever again the punishment will be severe (like it is now). 5. ?? You tell me? Indy [/ QUOTE ] What am I missing here? I thought that it was determined he cheated in one or more of his big wins on Party Poker, which, when added together were MORE than the money they "took". The fact that he happened to withdraw those funds and then win more playing "legitimate" poker is meaningless. His big MTT wins were more than 200K I think (and certainly more than 100K). They took 100K. Where are the punitive damages here? Removing all the cheating accounts except ZeeJustin? How exactly do you determine which of the 6 cheating accounts were legitimate and which were cheating accounts? Sorry, you can't. Again (seriously) maybe I'm missing something, but how can anyone even begin to consider this "punishment" to be overly severe. He cheated in one of more big MTTs, they took the winnings back, and probably not even as much as they determined to be fraudulent. I happen to support punitive damages here, but that's irrelevant, because in this case ... there were none. |
