looks like tomorrow will finalize the deal for Barca buy Chivu's contract for 12 mil Euros from Roma as well as giving us Ludovic Giuly, who may be used in another deal, although I like him

also, the Gunners have expressed interest in Alberto Aquilani an U-21 Italian national with a sh*tload of potential, but I doubt Roma will give him up

[/ QUOTE ]
On first thought I really like that deal for Roma if they keep Giuly or get good value from him in another deal. I think he'd probably do well in Serie A.

Wenger to appoint new sporting director at Arsenal
Article also hints at Wenger signing a new 4 year deal with Arsenal.

ANR has the same info

Anelka heavily linked, as is Babel or Hunteelar.

IMO Anelka is a better player then Eto'o

Even if that is true (which I don't agree it is), Eto'o is still two years younger. The previously mentioned Huntelaar may be the best pick of the three IMO (and it saves Eto'o for Milan!), but Arsenal aren't lacking in young, unpolished strikers.

I hope they pick up Anelka, Babel, and a CB.

this is a very silly statement, the only thing that anelka has over eto'o is that he is proven in the prem, but Eto'o's style of play would work great in england. Money can be much better spent on a striker then anelka. The only real logic I can see with getting anelka as opposed to going after a different striker like Huntelaar or Eto'o is that Wenger is familiar with anelka

I'm a Spurs fan (who looks like Thierry and is gutted that his look-a-like is leaving the UK) :

I'll take any bets within reason that Spurs finish above Arsenal 2007-2008 season...

Huntelaar is not "unpolished". He's 23 and scored 30 goals last year in a pretty good league. He's significantly far ahead of, say, Babel in terms of development.
