Yay. Chien Ming Wang - 7 IP, 2 ER. I say we send him out for the eighth and then send Gordon in for the ninth. [/ QUOTE ] Your tune changed rather quickly after that one |

The reason for that is because I don't like sending Gordon out for 2 innings. He tends to give up the long ball because he seems to be washed up. He throws some balls and then has to throw one down the middle.
It's not like our offense is killing people these days, and I don't think they appreciate Gordon giving up a homer every time he goes out to the mound. |

Bumping this, because it needs it.
Well the Yankees are now sharing the basement of the AL East with our friends the Devil Rays. The only benefit of this is that the couches down here are really comfortable, and Lou Piniella is a fun guy when he doesn't drink too much. That said, this weekend presents a great opportunity for the Yankees to get back on track. The A's are coming off being swept by the Rangers at home. Tonight's pitching matchup is Barry Zito of the A's against Carl Pavano of the Yankees. Look for Pavano to be dominant tonight against the weak offense of the A's, and look for the Yankee bats to hit Zito hard. Look for Mussina to be great against the A's tomorrow, and for Kevin Brown to finally have a good outing against them on Sunday. Prediction: The Yankees sweep the A's, and record their first three-game winning streak of the year. |

Too early to say that. The Yankees only won 87 games in 2000, the last year that they won the World Series.

the 2005 yankees are an embarassment. so much wrong. they need to build a real baseball team. 200 million and this is what we get? what a waste of money. i hope george fires cashman and gets somebody with a real clue of how to build a team in.

This year has left me in awe thus far. Could someone explain to me how our team got so much worse in the span of one offseason? Our starting pitching has got to be better than last year, and we have the same hitting core. You could say that the Yankees aren't a good team, which is looking more and more like the truth, but how the he hell does a bad team win 100+ games? Did 1 year really kill everyone on our team? Here's hoping the slump ends soon.
