I haven't read any spoilers, so this isn't fact, but I'd say there's about a 1% chance that we never see Michael/Walt again.

and not just in flashbacks...you can pretty much bet on a show like this with 2 characters that important that unless they happen to be, you know, dead, then they'll be back in some way.

hell, even the dead characters on Lost keep showing up in flashbacks every other episode.

Isn't it entirely possible that Michael and Walt could have been told to boat a specific direction because then they would meet up with a sub that could take them out?

Didn't Michael and his son Walt leave the island by sailing at a certain direction. Isn't the other boat still there (not sure where it is) that Desmond was sailing in and they used to spy with? I'm pretty sure there is a way, Desmond will just have to tell her. If you have a boat you can get off the island.

Yeah I didn't get this either unless Michael/Walt aren't really off the island. If they made it back to civilization, it would be known that they were on the flight, they would obviously tell people they were on an island and a massive search would begin.

I don't think Michael would tell people about the island because... all the witnesses from his multiple murders are there.
