In Tunica in January, a guy busted at my table during one of the events like three minutes into his fifteen (or whatever) minute massage and stayed in the seat until they filled it. The new guy came by, didn't see any seats, thought he was at the wrong table, took another lap, came back looking really confused, stood there for a minute, and finally asked the dealer if he had the right table.

So you are saying he limped so that someone could take the initiative in the hand and raise behind him? Even then, it sucks because he can't limp-reraise without overrepresenting his hand tremendously.
If he calls and takes a flop he's OOP with a somewhat vulnerable hand. Does he c/r a good flop? Does he c/c the flop and give him a free shot at outdrawing him on the turn? I just don't see any way playing JJ like this can be anything but terrible.

Balancing a bad play with another bad play still sucks.
