[ QUOTE ]
very big sack [/ QUOTE ] It was. But, Brady picked up some yardage on 3rd and 19 to make the field goal a little easier. It was only a 40 yarder. |

[ QUOTE ]
Well, let's see. There was that pass in the end zone that if he throws it even 2 inches better they have 4 more points. There's that sideline route that he threw out of bounds when he had a receiver wide open. There's that post route Daniel Graham ran that he threw 2 feet high and into double coverage. There's that quick out route Rhodes dropped. [/ QUOTE ] I never said that he didn't miss any throws. I never said he played perfectly. I said that in watching the game, I was very impressed with his overall play. Its funny that you accuse me of use arguments when they're convenient to me and ignore points against my side because thats exactly what you're doing here. I'm trying to look at Brady's overall body of work in the first half and you're merely concentrating on the bad plays. [ QUOTE ] If Ty Law drops any of those two passes Peyton throws right at him, you still crucify him. [/ QUOTE ] If a DB drops a pass directly thrown to him right in the numbers, then yes I will still think less of the QB for making that throw. I have Tivo, and I can go back and watch the Brady "near INTs" if you want me to....I'm pretty sure that the DB was diving and the ball was off his fingertips on both. Thats a huge difference. [ QUOTE ] use arguments when they're convenient to you and ignore them when they aren't. [/ QUOTE ] I think we all do this to some extent, and if you want to say that I do it at times, then I won't argue. However, I think that I've admitted that I'm wrong about things(Eagles, Vikings this year in the NFL for example) as much as anyone else on this board has, so I fail to see why you single me out. [ QUOTE ] The Seahawks are a bad team because they've been outscored by 11 points (15th in the league, 2nd worse in the playoffs), yet the Jets who have a point differential of 21 (12th in the league, 3rd worse in the playoffs) are just a "smart team" that plays games close. [/ QUOTE ] The AFC East is ten times a tougher division than the NFC West: AFC East 33-27, +115 point scoring differential AFC North 31-29, +110 point scoring differential AFC South 32-28, -2 point scoring differential AFC West 32-28, +66 point scoring differential NFC East 30-30, +70 point scoring differential NFC North 28-32, -19 point scoring differential NFC South 28-32, -99 point scoring differential NFC West 26-34, -241 point scoring differential At first you might think thats due to playing an easier schedule, but you'd be wrong: Opponents' Strength of Schedule AFC South .528 AFC East .522 AFC North .511 AFC West .505 NFC East .494 NFC South .485 NFC North .480 NFC West .473 In addition to playing in this tougher division the Jets also played tough out of division games against Indy and Chicago. The Jets are 10-6 and have outscored their opponents by 21 points; The Seahawks are 9-7 and have been outscored by 11 points. But you are right- Sometimes there will be two teams with identical stats and I will still feel very strongly that one team is better. I may even call one team a "smart team that just wins" and another team a "bad team that has gotten fortunate." How can I make such a distinction? Because I watch the games and formulate my opinions based upon that. I think I have been very clear in stating that most of my opinions come from watching the games and from hearing analysis from people I respect. I rely upon stats only as a secondary means. And based upon watching those two teams, I am very confident in saying that the Jets are a smart, winning football team and that the Seahawks are a very bad team for a playoff team. Am I always correct? No, not at all. But I usually try to have intelligent debates by writing out my views clearly and with mostly correct grammar/spelling. Addittionally I never insult anyone or try to make them feel stupid for having a differing opinion. Overall, I simply enjoy good debate. I would love for you to have a differing opinion. I just wish that everyone here would choose to have a friendly debate with me instead of sometimes taking things personally. |

Is it just me, or is anyone else uneasy at Brett Favre being a spokesman for any pill related product?
