Anyways, great epsiode. I laughed when Alex took a couple of guys out with her slingshot. Was she firing rocks or darts? She told Kate to do what the Other's told her otherwise "they'd kill her boyfriend (Sawyer) just like ??" It sounded like Todd or something, but I couldn't tell.

I'm glad the Smoke is back. I was hoping to find out more about it when Sayid was questioning Locke. The statment carved on Eko's holy stick was in a previous episode I believe. I don't remember the reason it was there.

This was the first week this season, that I was not really into the backstory. I have really enjoyed Locke and Eko's back story's this season.

the other alternative, of course, is for them to concentrate on moving the story forward with the main characters and only doing backstories that are not redundant.

most of that interview I liked...but that part I did not. they are basically admitting that they have some desire to stall and string along the series by introducing new characters that had zero relevance to seasons 1 and 2, instead of concentrating on current 'island time' events with the known Losties.

They are moving forward the storylines in the backstories. Its just that you can only introduce their primary character traits once. We already know Jack tries to be a hero, Kate is untrustworthy, Sawyer is a con-man, etc. So the future backstories of these people are never going to be as revolutionary as the first ones. However, we are continuing to learn more and more little things about them in each backstory.

Season three, IMO, has been scattered, convoluted, and slow. It's slipping into X-Files territory now, with such a jumbled, scattered plot and storyline, that it seems almost impossible that they will ever resolve everything and explain all the unanswered questions. They've added new characters to a show that already had too many to handle. And whereas the flashbacks used to provide intriguing backstory to the main characters, now they just seem like padding for already-too-slow episodes. The whole prisoners-on-the-island storyline has been slow, tedious, and tiresome, lacking a lot of the mystery and suspense that made the first two seasons so much better.

And what's worse, I don't really care. At this point, I'm just getting bored with the show and tired of idiotic characters who never ask questions or share information like real people would in these situations. I won't lie and say I'm done with the show... but I definitely think its gotten seriously off-track and much less of a must-see program than it once was...

You obviously need a three strike rule. Face it, all shows have good and bad episodes. I have been a Lost fan for the whole way, and I hated last nights episode. With a passion. It made me feel like I wasted an hour of my life watching it.

It happens.

On the other hand, this weeks Studio 60 was the best one yet by far to me. They had a great week.

Suggesting people get banned for saying they hate an episode of Lost is moronic. People should get banned for not adding content to the thread. In mine, I bitched, but I said why I bitched, and what I thought was the only good thing about the show this week.

If you can't take some whining, get off the internet.

I guess I just don't understand why you guys look at them as individual episodes. That'd be like judging a movie on one scene. We really don't know what exactly will happen as a result of last night's episode, so how can you say you didn't like it? Maybe something that started in last night's episode will turn out to be your favorite part of the entire show...you never know.

indeed. it's not like they're like "i will do one thing for you if you do my surgery," jack has leverage, he can ask for more than one thing. i'm guessing if he asked for an iced tea *and* his friends free he could get both! also note, he didn't negotiate for anything except "let me off the island" before agreeing to do the surgury.

i don't see why it's so clear "they won't tell him or they'll lie," or why he can't ask for anything he wants like say, "i would like to make a phone call," or some [censored] like that. ASK FOR ANYTHING GOD DAMNIT is my point.

also, yes, i knew to expect that from the show and yet still managed to be upset about it, because as pointed out by another, it's really freaking stupid and they never address it well, even though it keeps coming up.
