Bad news. I just got it from reliable sources that Azamat Bagatov is not even a real peron. He is not a TV producer from Kashikstan, but an actor named Ken Davitian from the US and A. [/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] i didn't like it that much to be honest. dunno what more to say. [/ QUOTE ] What more to say would consist of how you're obviously a man that has no sense of humor. [/ QUOTE ] Klompy, don't you see...not liking Borat is the new liking it. It's hip to say you didn't like it without giving any reason (because it implies that the humor was too low-brow to stimulate your brain enough). [/ QUOTE ] nah man not at all. i think borat is pretty funny. |

I laughed hernia hard way too many times, but there were a small portion of scenes that were obviously staged. Seriously, even the biggest SBC fans should be able to admit that.

I slept on it last night, and I've decided the gypsy garage sale was my favorite scene. Underrated!

i'm not trying to be cool by saying i didn't like it. maybe it's because i had seen it all before. maybe i have a different sense of humor than most people? i don't know. for instance i did laugh a few times, but never a really hard laugh. i thought the fat dude running around through the convention and stuff was pretty funny, but just because of how absurd the situation was. seeing some fat guy's balls on borat's chin just isn't that "ha ha" funny to me.
the whole scene with the kids in the rv was pretty bad.. can't remember anything funny that happened there. of course you gotta love when he opens the door to the b&b and the guy is wearing the yarmulke. i liked when he pulled out the alcohol when he was on the road with the driving instructor. anyway i was just giving my honest take on the movie, not "hating on it" or anything. i saw it, nice. would i see it again? no. |

************Spoiler***************** I am wondering about the skit with Pamela Anderson or Pamela Lee, or whatever her name is. Was she in on it? I was arguing with friends about this. For me, that was probably the funniest scene in the movie. It was so unexpected with the sack. There were parts of the movie that the audience was finding a lot funnier than I was. But I give it an 8-9/10. There were a few parts of the movie for me that were dull and didn't seem to have any commedic pay-off. Like him sleeping outside, or with that fat African American prostitute, I was bored during those scenes. [/ QUOTE ] Of course the Pamela scene was staged. If it were real she'd have her own security there, who would have tackled Borat immediately and there wouldn't have been a (hilarious) chase scene. Still, funny stuff. My biggest laugh came when he was talking about his brother and his sister to the comedy coach. Overall I really enjoyed it, but didn't feel it lived up to the hype created by everyone including my own mind, primarily because of watching too many clips of the movie prior to the movie. I would give the movie a B+ overall. Swede |
