Golf requires skill and effort; it is also a game that can be played well by Cha, Bluefeet and GtrHtr

As usual, you are 2/3 correct....

Also the game is called 500 in my neck of the woods.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I'm 100% sure that is not the name of the game, sorry sir.

Yugoslav

[/ QUOTE ]

I have to step in and stick up for Suzzer here as 500 was the name of the game in my neck of the woods as well and I GUARANTEE you that my neck of the woods was nowhere near either of you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds fair enough...I'm still pretty sure that name is incorrect . At least when suzzer claims it, lol.

[ QUOTE ]

In keeping with the spirit of the thread, I will ask Yoogo a question.
Does essence precede existence when an individual is confronted with the paradox of eternity?

[/ QUOTE ]
Not necessarily. It would seem the popular consensus is that it does.

Also, btw, eternity isn't necessarily a paradox either. It's just a concept we invented to confuse ourselves given our linear view of the temporal realm.

[ QUOTE ]

Also,
What is the origin of the phrase "Ship it"?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not really sure but it definitely started in poker as something to say when dragging a big pot. Then it at some point just became and exclamation used to express the awesomeness of something or a situation.

Personally I started saying it after hanging out with Raptor517 and TheUsher like 1.5 years ago. Although as I remember they dropped many Gs at a pai gow table during that time so they probably were saying "unship it " instead.

[ QUOTE ]

What is with the "Z" in "ZOMG" and "LOLZ" or "ZLOL"?

[/ QUOTE ]

You guys should look this stuff up yourselves, .

But yeah, basically as it seems to be used on this message board it is sort of a making fun of itself version of OMG. I guess OMG just got too boring, . Personally I like to throw in a nice "oh em gee" when I'm talking irl....then I twirl my hair in a mocking manner or something and give the target negative body language and throw a sniper neg.

Oh wait, only cardminger knows what I'm talking about, meh.

[ QUOTE ]

And one more,
Is the rampant typing of "teh" as in "he is teh pawn" on this forum simply a typo each time or is there some hidden origin of this as well that I am not familiar with?

[/ QUOTE ]

When saying "teh pwn" it's intentional. However it's a very common typo anyway so sometimes it's hard to tell. Frankly I do it intentionally and unintentionally myself. It's all essentially 1337 speak and was devloped by people who mashed keyboard incessently while hopped up on mountain dew at 5am playing crap 1st person shooters.

This one is coming from a non-native english speaker.

Why do you guys say "scrippa" when you mean "stripper"?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's ebonics. I'm from Oakland - the only place I know of that tried to legitimately teach ebonics as a class in the public school system.

But most importantly, it's so much more fun to say!

"Let's go pwn some buck nekkid big bootay scrippaz!"

[ QUOTE ]

The coolest thing I ever did when I was a kid is eat my tests in kindergarten.....those tests were the nuts if you were hungry and bored!!!

Yugoslav

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you mean testes? Because testes aren't the nuts, but actually nuts. Which makes eating them when you are hungry and bored a WHOLE different conversation.

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol, no I meant tests. But I never would have even thought or laughed about this unless you brought it up.

See, this is proof that you are awesome....no go nail your lady and be world champion of life.

WHY AND HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE ME. AND IN WHICH WAYS DO YOU WANT TO EXPRESS YOUR LOVE TO (ME).

[/ QUOTE ]

Whoa, calm down, lol.

Ummm....I'm barely familiar with you at all. I do recognize your handle and have a vague idea of what your posts are like.

I guess I love you this much *gestures with hands*.

And I want to express my love with this smiley montage:

Yugo,

Will the stigma of calling ourselves poker players in public ever go away or will we just have to live with this forever?

[/ QUOTE ]

What stigma? I tell people I play poker all the time and get nothing but positive feedback (but of course I tell them in an excited/positive way without hesitation or reservation).

[ QUOTE ]

Is there any chance that we will ever gain the acceptance that golf has?

Indy

[/ QUOTE ]

Umm....dude, as far as I'm concerned saying I play poker >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;> than saying I play golf.

What is the correct response when the alcoholic, British, obvious loser estranged husband of my alcoholic, complete and total dingbat next door neighbor implies that I should get a real job?

Dearest Yugo,

I'd like to take a girl on a second date, possibly as early as this weekend. For the sake of being complete, the first date we had was to a Twins game. We're both 25, and (obv) live in the Twin Cities.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Zipppy
