After reading about your meeting with the Super and him telling you that he would get back to you and never did – I want to scream, myself. I can only imagine your exasperation. None of this surprises me, though. They are idiots – folk in these positions. It is the same all over.

I just wanted to tell you to make sure you cover your bases. I don’t think anyone would make a deal of you breaking your contract with a bit more notice. But, with school just around the corner – be sure they can’t come after you for breach of contract. They will want to make you look like the bad guy. Check with your union maybe.

concerning scheduling, it has become clear that the science department is
moving in a different direction and that my talents are no longer needed or
wanted at XXX High School. In an effort to facilitate this
transition, I regret to announce that I am resigning my teaching position
effective immediately. I enjoyed my time at XXXX very much and am
proud of the work that I did reinvigorating the physics department. I wish
you all the best and am looking forward to new challenges.
