[ QUOTE ]
I don't understand the significance of misspelling a word in bold italics? I'm not trying to be a spelling nit but if you think you are "fixing" my post then you should be aware that I spelled the word correctly. Other than that you seem to be trying to argue semantics with me. But I do find it amusing that you tell me my post is incorrect, but then go on to say "he's losing his time and buy in" .... when my post was a direct retort to the statement "it is impossible for them to lose by cheating." [/ QUOTE ] I was not trying to imply you misspelled, only imply that the term was used incorrectly. He did not lose any winnings, He only lost his buy-in. I'm completely correct in saying this. BTW, thanks for pointing out my spelling error. |

I think you misinterpret the impact of Stars policy . It gives a huge disincetive for cheaters, not really different from the perceived Party's policy.
And where is anybody from Party to explain the policy? All we know that Party confiscated funds from ZJ and JJ. Nowhere did party say that they confiscated more than what was won by cheating, just that they confiscated their balances. |

Maybe it's just because I'm an SnG player, but what mostly bothered me was that ZJ was able to play (not multi-account, just play) in SnGs under more than one name within a span of 6 months. As someone who follows the once-every-6-months name-change rule and has to deal with regulars coming to recognize his nick, I really resent the unfair advantage that the increased anonymity gave him.

Fantastic post, thank you for sharing. Nice that something good came of all this. [/ QUOTE ] The post was twice as long and I shortened it when quoting. I probably should not have as it deserved to be read. You can search for the whole post. Very good. |

This was 40k extra. The same thing happened with ZJ. I'm not sure how much was extra. but it was 6 accounts that were confiscated. Obviously not all from cheating. Again I ask- Where would you rather cheat? Party or Stars? |

Sirio, what exactly do you do when ur internet goes out and you are in a tournament? Do you just concede the event and accept the loss of money? I'm wondering what people feel is acceptable in this situation. I know i've had people take over for me in the past (while extremely rare), and I've taken over for others before. Maybe this is wrong. I'm getting the impression you feel it is. Yes/No?

Someone once told me that Sirio had his power go out while on the FT. He phoned a friend back in El Paso and had him relate the action and then perform the actions that David wanted. Playing by phone, sort of.

[ QUOTE ]
And I also don't know too many people who steal store merchandise and wind up getting the security guard taking it back from them and shooing them out of the store. That's not punishment, and without punishment, there's no disincentive to take cheating actions. [/ QUOTE ] That not what Stars did. According to Lee they researched all the tournaments that ZeeJustin played and found the ones he cheated. What you want in your example is even if the store security will review all their tapes and find out that this thief didn't steal anything else from this store in all previous times he was there but they would still go to his house and take everything he ever bought in this store. Basically your premise is there is no need to research anything. If somebody is caught (or maybe you will go as far as somebody is merely suspected) in any form of cheating the site should confiscate all money that is held there. I am sure any site would love just to do this, but I doubt that it's legal. Like it was pointed earlier - creating a new account to be able to get RB through an affiliate is breaking site rules too, and therefore cheating. I guess you will advocate that, when discovered, Party should confiscate all money too, especially if this player is a high volume player who reasonably gained more than his balance at the site by the illicit RB. |
