Of course we don't know how many games he's "cost" the Mets. But we do know that there have been a number of games -- especially recently -- where he hasn't done his job. And it's not just that he hasn't done his job, it's that he's crashed and burned in awful fashion. That's all you need to know.

In May or June, they want to give him a chance to work through it in meaningful situations, fine. It's now late August. There's no time for this. The lead is not big enough. He needs to be relegated to mop up work if he is going to remain on the team.

Glavins just not hitting his spots at all tonight early in the count. When he doesn't hit his spots early then he ends up having to throw one right over the plate which the hitters are waiting for. Its important for all pitchers but even more so with Glavin to get a first pitch strike.
