First of all, I'd like to clarify my earlier comments:

Teddy, I no longer believe that your integrity is in question, and from the get-go, I imagined this would be the case. You are clearly attempting to be as upfront and honest with the zoo, which is pretty uncommon. For this, I commend you.

Secondly, your original post is misleading. Your spin on the story (however slight) indicates that PokerStars is doing something wrong by catching your mom. Here is what the truth undoubtably is: Your mom is guilty of bot play. If she does not secure her own computer and allows trojans to perform these actions, she is somewhat complicit with the guilty party by not taking said actions. Her involvement, however unintended, makes her banning a legitimate one.

I cannot beleive the "hack the comp run a bot plan." If you hack an account, so much better stuff to do than run a bot.

If one is going to test bots at nano limits, the risk of getting the account closed is insignigcant, no one cares about losing 20 bucks. And openening a ton of fake accounts is very easy.


I don't beleive starts messed up. Your mom had a bot. She probably was aware of it running, if not behind it.

I also don't like how people expressed dissatisfaction that Stars would refund the money. THen coincidently, the posted email, addresses that point by saying they where 95% sure, with not mention of this in OP.

Yep, this is the most eye-catching thing, and I would also think one of the most easy to follow-up on (given that mom expressly denies it). And if you read my email to Lee, you'd see that that's exactly the thing that I pointed out, if he addressed, would solve this problem ENTIRELY. Just find those alleged 43 hours of continuous play and look at the hand histories. Also look to see whether those 43 hours came from the same ISP that she has played on for the previous year. If so, that would be a smoking gun, no? I haven't heard back from Lee yet on that one.
My mom tells me she's doing the MacAffee virus scan now and will let me know results when it's done.

i am super surprised by how many of you guys truly believe the sites are infallible. are you guys just in love with stars or something? usually yall rip on sites unmercifully, esp party. would you guys have the same reaction if it was part closing her acct? how about prima (thats the site strassa had to fight right)?

I rip on stars all the time. They have much room to improve. I just can't beleive you can make a mistake as to whether someone plays for 43 hours str8. If they did, thats terrible.

Neither can I.
6-tabling 43 hours without breaks would be close to impossible for a human unless you did some kind of extended ADHOC and had prepared with food and a few peeing bottles. And somehow I don't think a 55 year old woman would do that. Especially not the peeing part.

I believe the probability of Teddys mom being dishonest is approaching 1.
