I don't usually post here, but now I just have to. Don't you people know anything about poker? Go check pocketfives.com and you will clearly see that this "aba" fellow is NOWHERE NEAR the best poker players in the world. And NO, this is not a matter of opinion, the ranking system in pocketfives.com is totally objective. LOL, I don't think this guy is even among the TOP 1000 poker players in the world! Use your brain, morans (if you have one)!

Since the thread started, the gentleman has posted again. He bluffed off his chips to Bobby Baldwin again. Since he was tilted, he is not sure but thinks he lost another 800K. A gambler should look for the place he has the best advantage if he is focused on money as his goal. However, I can understand a young man wanting to try the top talent in the biggest game in town. A good writer with the pen name Wild Bill Hickok uses an analogy of the old-west gun fighters and the young poker players. Wanting to make a big play on Bobby Baldwin has tripped up young guns for decades. He waltzed up licking his chops and limped away licking his wounds. If he tells his bad beat stories at the airport, nobody will believe them. [/ QUOTE ] lol looks like you are having tons of fun feeling all wise and superior to Brian. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is not the case. The occasion for starting this thread was the initial post on Brian Townsend's blog. That's why the thread is titled "Aba caught bluffing ..." etc. Also, it's utterly laughable to say that one or two sessions prove anything, especially between two world-class players. Bobby Baldwin is a great player who made a great play to win a big pot. Brian Townsend is a great player who gave Baldwin due credit for making said play. Saying Townsend "can't beat Bobby's room" based on one pot -- or even a few losing sessions -- is like saying Sammy Farha is clearly outmatched against Chris Moneymaker because of one famous televised bluff. |

[/ QUOTE ] So the fact that aba started off online as a microstake beginner and worked his way up to being the most feared and successful NLHL player on Full Tilt, isn't objective? That's a pure meritocracy right there- and it's based on a huge number of hands which excludes variance as being the reason. I trust aba's results more than I do some well-known pro who likely gets a lot of his bankroll from endoresements and the like. When you see aba playing 4 tables on FT with 100 grand or so on each table, you know that most of those dollars (excepting the big fish like noatiama) were pried from the hands of a very good poker player. I'm not saying that makes aba the best player in the world, but his results are much more impressive to me than some guy like Negreanu who gets huge amounts of endorsement money and who could well have been busto long ago if he relied solely on poker playing for his bankroll like aba does. |

If the guy loses another million, he might have to use Jacksons instead of Benjamins to wipe.
