Hey, you're obviously an awesome MTT player (real respect). Just saying that based on those two hands alone, with no information about hole cards, it's close to impossible to say anything about his ability to play short stacks. [/ QUOTE ] Fair enough, just that I have a history with him and these hands only reaffirm my previous thoughts. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Mr. Rain Slips Steven Garfinkle raised to 72,000 from the button, Jeff "Mr. Rain" Banghart re-raised to 200,000 from the small blind, Garfinkle moved all in for 605,000 and Mr. Rain was forced to fold. That hand took Garfinkle's stack up to 900,000. On the next hand, Banghart raised to 75,000 from the button and Kevin Farry called. The flop was {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Farry checked, Banghart bet 250,000, Farry moved all in and Banghart folded. After these two hands, Banghart's stack was down to 1.85 million. [/ QUOTE ] This dude is so [censored] bad at playing short stacks. [/ QUOTE ] Lol resultsoriantatedments [/ QUOTE ] Explain? [/ QUOTE ] Hey, you're obviously an awesome MTT player (real respect). Just saying that based on those two hands alone, with no information about hole cards, it's close to impossible to say anything about his ability to play short stacks. [/ QUOTE ] Nah, he just made some really awful plays at the sunday million final table recently, that's where it's coming from. |

And it doesn't matter what his hole cards are, reraising a guy big and then folding getting over 2 to 1 is absolutely horrible.

Just didn't have info about the shortstack's chipcount. And yeah, if you have previous experience/info about the guy that makes your statement all the more reasonable. |

I'm not completely disagreeing with you because I've been a critic of that style too, but there are spots in tournamnet play where even if the math dictates an instacall with any two live, that it's still reasonable to fold if you're the big stack. It's situational depending on your opponent's range vs. his M, if you're setting up a play in the future, etc. |

Q9o seems like an awfully bad hand in that spot. Just seems dominated so many ways. [/ QUOTE ] IDK something like the Gus (A2o) would be much worse. With Q9o, Villain is going to be 33-40% most of the time he's called, and will be flipping against underpairs. |
