I think snowbank should realize that the damage done here will cost him much more then the few sessions he doesn't want to work out with the OP. Both sides are correct in some of there points/however a settlement of some sort should have been reached between both parties. So snowbank, you stuck to your guns and im sure it will cost you more in the long run.

There are many qualified coaches who you can hire per hour/maybe 2 sessions up front.

if snowbank really wants to do him a favour...he shold give him 40$ (20buyins at 0.01/0.02). This way the pupil can still get his coaching and make use of it.

I'm surprised this post brought so much drama so quickly, coming from an OP who started the day with like 20 posts, before people on the board heard from me. Kind of disappointing since I've been posting for a long time, and have helped a lot of people will a lot of things(poker and non-poker) ...blah blah OP was annoying... Some people who have IMed me agreed with me that he didn't deserve a refund, but felt for business reasons it might be best to give him money. Business wise, decisions like that make sense, but I don't feel that I should go against what myself/and others I asked opinions of feel is correct, because this guy will try to tarnish my image if I do what I feel is correct. I know the OP is trying to portray me as someone that I'm not, and anyone who knows me knows this. I don't think I should make decisions based on what people will think about me when their opinion stems from someone with the character of OP. [/ QUOTE ] First off, OPs competence as a poker player, and his bankroll management skills(or lack thereof), don't give you a right to keep his money. Secondly, having 2000 posts in front of your name instead of 20 doesn't mean you deserve special treatment. Your justifications for keeping OPs money are absurd. -that he cost you the opportunity to coach other students ...yet you only managed to put 2 sessions in over a multi-week period... and other students have shown that you didn't have time for them, either! It's not like you were sitting around for hours waiting for OP to show up so you could coach him. -That he pestered you on AIM. Well, him being a pain in the ass doesn't entitle you to rip him off. You agreed to 5 sessions, let OP sell the remaining 3 to another poster - no opportunity cost lost since the agreed upon sessions are being given, you don't even have to deal with prices or anything, just schedule the lessons with whomever purchases them. -That your friends told you it was right. Appeal to authority doesn't cut it. You are welcome to keep OP's money, or let him sell his sessions, come to some sort of compromise, whatever - i'm not going to tell you what to do. Remember, though, while you sit on your imagined high-horse, that the OP didn't make up a story to ruin your reputation on 2p2, you did that all on your own when you pocketed his money for services you didn't provide.
