All,

I know polls are far from great, but I still wanted to get a feel for things about the avatar rule. Look here:

please take time to do the poll, but also feel free to say here what you think about the avatar rule.

I'm counting 2 loungers no likee, possibly 3 (depending if Katy was just kidding or not).

personally I don't see the big deal about making an avatar rule. Any avatar that would be fully nsfw would get nixed pretty quick because of the T&C, so the ones that are a little racy really aren't that big of a deal for me. I don't like the fact that it prevents possible contributing posters from posting

I oppose the avatar rule. Someone else made this point in ATF, but anybody who comes here is already browsing other forums where they will be exposed to bouncing boobies anyway. The rule mainly just prevents quality posters from contributing here.

Given Mat has given permission for us to keep or remove the avatar rule as we see fit, and given the feedback supporting removal in 'About the Forums', in here, and by PM, we have decided to lift the avatar restriction. It has now been removed.

I'm so misunderstood.

I voted I post in the lounge and I don't like the avatar rule. Frankly, there are only a couple avatars out there that I find just ridiculous.

Anyone who wants to can just turn avatars off, so let them choose their level of censorship rather than imposing it on someone else.

some have mentioned recently added politics to the mix.

if that "complaint about the banning" thread in ATF isn't proof that we don't want politics in here...well...i don't know what is

Pryor,

The problem isn't politics. It's politics posters. If Lounge posters feel like discussing a political subject in the style and politeness of the Lounge, I'm not opposed. It's when they start getting riled up like they like to do in the Politics forum that things break down. If we transported the politics forum here in its current state, it would be a disaster.
