the idea as a whole was just to get them to look at your profile.

you could literaly send them a message that says
"i wanna shoot you in the face and [censored] the brain hole."
and probably get some kind of response.

I made that up, but you get the idea. The second option is working better than the first, especially if they are offline when you send it. The first option has a low success rate UNLESS they are online at the time, in which case it usually elicits a response.

I don't think that's true. Because after my second message, I've dumped the "inside?" and I've already started talking to the girl.

But the messages you've been sending seem equally effective at starting conversation so yes the inside? is unnecessary, but nonetheless entertaining.
