I'll second this. The TV show was so bad that I couldn't understand why anyone was telling me to see the movie. The show is absolute dogcrap.

It's definitely one of the worst shows of all time, but it only ran for a few months, so it doesn't qualify as "long running". I suppose you could argue that it was a spin-off of the long-running kid's show, but then you'd have to also include such horrible spin-offs as "Three's a Crowd" and the Cheers Nick Tortelli spinoff (whose name escapes me now).

I found it in IMDB. The name of the show was so obvious that we'd forgotten it: The Tortellis
