Roll Forward (no players in the money)

If a tournament is cancelled and we do a "roll forward" before the players are in the money, we refund each remaining player his entry fee, and then divide up the prize pool based on the following formula:

• 50% of the award pool is distributed evenly among all remaining players
• 50% of the award pool is distributed proportionally according to the chip count

Did you even read the link? All remaining people in a tourny split 50% of the cash, and then the other 50% is split according to stack size i think (if not stack then current place). I think I just got like $50 for being 15/35 in a $10 180

Just had never heard the term "rolled forward" before. I know how they divide up the prizepool based on chips/entrants.

So I was in the $27.50 - 18K guaranteed and only 50 or so people were registered. It had not started and the message was that it would be "rolled forward." I am getting paid for that bad boy?

For example, just got this mail

Dear Nonfictional,

Tournament #51202666 has been cancelled due to technical reasons.

When a tournament is cancelled before players are in the money, we refund
each player their tournament fee, and then divide up the prize pool based
on the following formula:

- 50% of the award pool distributed evenly between remaining players
- 50% of the award pool distributed proportionally according to the chip
count

At the time of cancellation there were 30 player remaining, and your chip
count was 9,350. Total chips in play were 270,000.

Prize pool to be divided equally: $1,800.00/2 = $900.00
Prize pool to be divided based on chip count: $1,800.00/2 = $900.00

Your share in money equally divided: $900.00/30 = $30.00
Your share based on chip count: $900.00 x (9,350/270,000) = $31.16
Your entry fee refunded: $1.00
Total money refunded to your account: $62.16

We apologize for the inconvenience.

I had the new cheesy-beefy melt at Taco Bell.
Normally I'm not too big on their new 'food of the moment' stuff they roll out. But this was actually pretty damn tasty.

also - thanks to hostjacob for taking the time to stop by with the updates. not many site reps do that.

If we ever meet in person: Tacos are on me!!

I was playing a HU sng when PS froze. It was really about 1 minute into the game or so. Now they canceled it and refunded the money according to their "rolled forward" formula. However, they are still keeping the vig for themselves, which is annoying to say the least, considering there was no game and everybody wasted their time trying to log in and log out.

I agree the vig should be refunded too.

Notify Stars of this and give them a little while.
I actually feel pretty confident they will do the right thing on situations such as your own.

I got the vig back for both of the tournaments I was in. Definitely send them an email.

With the roll forward, we do not keep the vig. In your credit email, there should be a line reading:

"Your entry fee refunded:"

which is the refund of the vig.
