JB: Shawne, what were your thoughts on the first half of the Pats/Jets game?
Shawne Merriman: Well, JB, I was thinking that I'm gonna have to use a lot of roids to beat this Pats team.

Yeah, but he's pissed he didn't win DPOY, even though he missed 4 games for juicing.

For those of you that don't believe in Mangenius, may I suggest an alternative....

Mangina!

I hope the Barber brothers won't suck as much as the Sharpes in the studio.

In the last ~10 quarters, the New England Patriots have outscored the New York Jets 55-44.

That was some smart football by the Jets on that play action pass. Clearly, Eric Mangenius is outcoaching the Jets. He called into Pennington to "run that 77 yard pass play," and by his Professor X like powers willed Dewayne Robertson to force that fumble.

But he can't overcome Tom Brady, whose 5.5 yards per pass play, two near-picks, and 5 errant throws have allowed the Pats to run for 100 yards.

[/ QUOTE ]

Awesome. It's nice that even a stat nerd like you can appreciate the greatness of the Powers of Brady.

Fisher would you be interested in +7.5 for the game right now?

or 4.5-1 straight up

[/ QUOTE ]

Jets +610 on Pinny. seems sorta strange considering the Jets receive, and the 1st half result was pretty close to expected based on the line.

o rly hadn't noticed

Thanks for the sarcasm. It really makes me want to have an intelligent and friendly debate with you when you try to make me feel stupid.

Context man, context. I gave that stat about the last 7 quarters because people(perhaps it was you) were saying that these teams weren't even close. Even if you want to count all 10 quarters, 11 points over 10 quarters is very very close. That was my entire point in posting that 7 quarters stats. You've shown nothing to disprove that.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure what "smart" has to do with it. Mangini called a timeout right before, presumably to warn his players that the Pats most likely can't run the ball. And the guy was indeed covered. Its not like the Jets totally fell for the run and had nobody back there to cover him. He simply beat his man on the route, and Brady threw a perfect pass.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ] Instead of being a smart ass why don't you tell me who you think is doing the better coaching job and why? I provided my opinion. I may very well be wrong- I've never been afraid to admit that I can be wrong at times. But this blatant sarcasm does nothing to further the conversation, and is really just a form of trolling on your part.

[ QUOTE ]
two near-picks

[/ QUOTE ] LOL at "near picks."

[ QUOTE ]
and 5 errant throws

[/ QUOTE ] Hes completed 64% of his passes, which is a very good number. I'm not sure how you can use this as an argument against him.

[ QUOTE ]
whose 5.5 yards per pass play

[/ QUOTE ] Commments like this are why I "hate stats." Anyone who has watched the game knows that Brady has played very very well this game. Brady got 0 yards for the PI call that resulted in putting hte ball at the one yard line. Brady also got 0 yards for the 50 yard bomb that his WR dropped in the endzone. Watching this game, do you really think that Brady hasn't played well? If so, then I don't know what to even say.
